COUNTRY STRONG Singing Challenge Find Its St. Louis Winner, Sean Hileman!
It was a frigid Saturday afternoon (December 4th) at the Pro Bass Shop on St. Charles, MO, but spirits were high as many contestants competed for a spot in Country Music Television and Sony Pictures National Singing Challenge on behalf of the new film, COUNTRY STRONG, starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Tim McGraw.
Contestants were asked to sing a 60 second a Capella version of either the new hit song, COUNTRY STRONG or SILVER WINGS, with the winner receiving $500 and a chance to compete for a VIP trip to Nashville, a meeting with a Sony Music exec and a spot on CMT.
On hand were contest judges Mason and Remy from 93.7 the Bull’s Morning Show and Rich Dalton, Pro Bass Operations Manager.
Many singers showed up to belt out the songs and though nerves were high, everyone’s performances were Country Strong.

The judges judged the performances based on the Judging Criteria (Execution, Style and Originality) and selected a Finalist and Runner-Up from Saturday’s event.
Ultimately Sean Hileman of Edwardsville, IL was chosen as the St. Louis finalist.
Employed as a concrete finisher and wedding singer, the Country Strong Challenge winner said he crammed for the contest as he only heard about it on the day before. After his victory, Hileman said, “I may not show it, but on the inside I’m screaming!”

When Taped Performances are posted on the Contest Site, voting will begin at 12:00 noon ET on December 10, 2010 and end at 12:01 p.m. ET on December 16, 2010. THERE IS NO LIMIT ON HOW MANY TIMES VOTERS CAN VOTE. At the end, the eligible Entrant whose Taped Performance was the highest vote getter will be declared the Contest’s Grand Prize Winner.

Sean has been singing a long time. Just heard him recently at my daughters wedding and he blew everyone away. Vote for him. This has been a dream of his for as long as I have known him and it has been a long time.

Your a real ignorant jealous person to post something like that. That article said he punched a guy. Let me guess, your perfectly innocent and have never done anything wrong in your whole life. So what, he got in an altercation with a guy. Everyone makes mistakes, even you “Smith”. And mistakes dont make you any less deserving of great things. Get over yourself and grow up. Be more concerned with improving your own life, cause clearly if you have to search around on the internet like paparazzi to dig up dirt on someone to make yourself feel good, then you got issues of your own you need to spent your time working on.. WOW! I know Sean personally. He is a exceptional friend and already is an amazing father to his unborn son!! No ones perfect, so before you start pointing fingers…you should make sure your hands are clean!! He deserves this and hopefully your ignorance will not cloud others choices!!
I agree with Melissa- Theresa seriously doesn’t know what she is talking about. Sean has been a close friend of the family for YEARS. And he is a great guy with an amazing voice. It is so easy to cast stones on forums like this when you don’t have to identify yourself.
How about the victim that was protecting a 1 1/2 year old toddler by stopping sean hileman from entering a house…. Child Services will be informed.

I cannot believe they have not removed this post yet. This is ridiculous!! This says he was CHARGED- you know nothing of the outcome of this case and whoever moderates this discussion board should have this post removed immediately and this Teresa person should be banned from posting anything else. There could be serious legal implications if this sort of discussion is allowed to occur. This forum is about his talent, not an open forum to discuss someone’s character or mistakes.

For as long as I’ve known Sean he has been actively pursuing this dream. Please get over your personal issues and be happy for someone who is in arms reach of their dream.

I agree with Theresa. Please don’t vote for Sean. I know him personally as well and he doesn’t deserve such an amazing opportunity. He physically and mentally abused a friend of mine for years. I have absolutely no respect for a woman beater.

Maybe you are in love with him. I could care less about a person of his status. The news doesn’t lie about his background.
