Who Wants to See JONAH HEX With the Movie Geeks?
Whether you’re a long-time fan of the DC Comics title or a newbie going into the film adaptation with fresh, unbiased eyes, JONAH HEX looks to promise action, sex appeal and good times… all in a slightly modern, no-holds-bar over-the-top Western genre format not quite like anything we’ve seen before. JONAH HEX stars Josh Brolin, Megan Fox, John Malkovich and Michael Fassbender.
However, some lucky few will not have to wait until June 18th… We Are Movie Geeks is giving you a chance to win your way into a special advanced screening of JONAH HEX on Wednesday, June 16th. Each winner will receive admission for two to see a disfigured Josh Brolin cowboy with a chip on his shoulder seeking revenge and a sexy dangerous Megan Fox in skimpy old west clothing hunt down an evil John Malkovich, before it opens to the general public.
The contest is simple:
First and foremost… this is a St. Louis screening. If you will not be in St. Louis on the evening of June 16th , please do not enter this to win this contest.
Here’s what you’ve got to do to win… tell us your favorite bounty hunter and/or “gun for hire” character from which movie. Submit your favorite in the form of a comment at the bottom of this post. Winners will be selected at random from the entries and notified by email.
Good Luck! And… if you’re not one of the lucky winners, be sure to check out JONAH HEX when it opens in theaters nationwide on Friday, June 18th.

Most people will probably say Boba Fett, but my personal favorite and most badass bounty hunter is Anton Chigurh played by Javier Bardem from "No Country for Old Men." That silenced shotgun, gas canister and the speech given to the gas attendent about a coin flip are all terrifying. But not anywhere close to as terrifying as his haircut. It screams badass.
Robert De Niro in Midnight Run. Great developing story line between De Niro and Charles Grodin, who he is bringing in for the reward.
Besides going for the obvious bad ass bounty hunter, Boba Fett, I'm going to change it up and say Dwayne Johnson from "The Rundown" because it was an enjoyable movie and had a lot of fun action scenes.
I'm not going to be in St. Louis so I don't want to be entered, but I still felt like posting. Off the top of my head my fave is Clint Eastwood's character (The Stranger) in High Plains Drifter. Lots of folks will say his Man With No Name character and films, but I like the later film. It is just so much more fun.
I'd have to say Jayne (Adam Baldwin) from Firefly/Serenity. He signed up for the money and his own bunk, but stayed true out of loyalty to the captain/crew. In a show that had some of the best written characters in recent memory, he always stood out as my favorite.
Can I get a shoutout for Keira Knightley as DOMINO HARVEY?
Spike Spiegel and Jet Black from "Cowboy Bebop: Knocking on Heaven's Door". Actually I love the series and the movie. Cowboy Bebop is so cool, great animation, awesome music.
The Rundown with Dwayne Johnson because I like looking at him, no matter what the movie.
Jango Fett from Star Wars Ep. II. Represent the Jangoz!
Clint Eastwood as William Munny in "Unforgiven" is my favorite Gun for Hire character. Its classic Clint and he directed.
Lee Marvin as Rico Fardan in "The Professionals." Lee Marvin is my favorite actor and he was a great gun for hire.
Milo Boyd from The Bounty Hunter is ridiculously funny in getting is ex-wife to jail. This I would say getting even.
I LOVE Clint Eastwood……my vote goes for him. One of my favs is when he was the bounty hunter in Unforgiven….he played William Muny.
I would really like to see this movie….looks really good.
I liked the character in the new movie "Bounty Hunter".
He was a good hunter and sooo funny. It was Milo Boyd played by Gerad Butler.
Going to have to go with Bruce Willis in The Last Man Standing.
My favorite would have to be Gerard Butler in the new movie…The Bounty Hunter. It was a cute little story and Gerard pulled off the part he was given. I would love to see this movie!!
I think my favorite was Clint Eastwood in Unforgiven. He is good in all his movies, but this one was one of my fav's!
Would love a pass…thanks!!!
Keira Knightley as DOMINO HARVEY has my vote also.
Everyone knows you mess with Clint Eastwood about as much as you'd mess with Chuck Norris. I loved him in all the movies but Unforgiven was the best. Him playing William Munny was amazing.
Even though no one hired him to hunt these men down who could forget John Wayne in The Sons of Katie Elder!!! This was a classic where he hunted down the men that killed his father. Loved it.
Warren Oates (Bennie) from "Bring Me The Head Of Alfredo Garcia". Old, tired and tough. driving across Mexico with the only one who cares for him and a million dollar rotting head.
I think William J. Johns (Cole Hauser) from Pitch Black (2000) makes a pretty good bounty hunter.
I'm going with Bruce Willis in The Last Man Standing but I like Liam Neasan in Taken hunting for his daughter even though he wasn't a bounty hunter per sa.
I'm not a comic book nut but I like the Transporter He is a car for hire! But he's great at protecting his cargo.and then there is Liam Nessen in "Taken" , and Bruce Willis in " The Last Man Standing".But NO ONE can bet Clint Eastwood In any of his action movies
Warren Oates as Bennie in Bring Me The Head Of Alfredo Garcia COOL! For a funny kiry side Milo Boyd in the Bounty Hunter played by Gerard Butler
While everyone is focused more on the traditional bounty killers, I'm going to take a different tack and say Angelina Jolie in Mr/Mrs Smith. Yeah, we like the shoot-up 'em tough guys, but, hey, Jolie is one of the nicer hired killers to look at!
how about alan ladd in Shane, although he was the good guy "come back Shane!"
I look forward to watching this movie tonight. I'm not a big fan of megan fox, but I'll live through it.
I've always enjoyed Clint Eastwood movies. I would say when he played in Unforgiven. I think he had a great role in that movie and did an excellent job.
I would really like passes for this movie, thank you.
I'd better say, the one and only great Clint Eastwood from Unforgiven. When you watch him on screen, it seems like you've been hunted by him. I mean, when he plays his role, he is like inviting you to his scene and feel the excitement of the movie especially Unforgiven.
One of my favorites is Bruce Willis in The Whole Nine Yards. He brought a comedic tone to being a hitman. And plus, he tries to make things "as quietly as possible."
I can't remember the name of the movie, but it had John Cusack as a Hit man!
That would be GROSSE POINTE BLANK, starring John Cusack as a hit man, returning home for his high school reunion.. Dan Akroyd played his arch-rival hitman.
