DVD Giveaway: THE WOLFMAN

THE WOLFMAN is a remake of the Universal classic THE WOLF MAN (1941) and stars Benicio Del Toro as Lawrence Talbot, cursed to transform into a savage beast on nights of a full moon. The film was directed by Joe Johnston with special makeup effects by the legendary Rick Baker and co-stars Anthony Hopkins, Emily Blunt and Hugo Weaving.

Contest:

WAMG has a limited number of Unrated Director’s Cut DVD’s of 2010′s THE WOLFMAN. Follow the instructions below and, if you’re able to submit the “correct” answers soon enough, you may just win one of these DVD’s.

Here’s how to win:

  1. Test your movie makeup and special effects knowledge, or… just cheat and Google the answer, but tell us how many Academy Awards Rick Baker has won for special effects and/or makeup.
  2. This is a two-parter… Break open your mental movie vault and tell us in what other film prior to THE WOLFMAN did Benicio Del Toro portray a part-canine character? This one’s easy, if you know your 80′s movie trivia. Then, tell us who portrayed the Wolf Man in the original Universal film. (Be specific!)
  3. Finally, enter your name, email and your “correct” answers into the comments section below to be entered into the contest.

  5. Since all of us here are correct, we ALL look forward to receiving the DVD! Right guys?
Again, thanks for making the contest available. :-D

    • Well, as much as I'd like to give everyone a copy, it wouldn't be much of a contest if everyone got one. But, everyone who got the correct answer will have a chance at winning one. Good luck!

  6. I hear you Travis. I was just having some fun. Good luck to everyone here!

  7. Noel Carter says:

god, i hope i didn't mess my chances up by trying to be smart in my answer…..O_o

but thanks for putting this up anyway

    • I'm with you on this and feel the same way …I was merely just having fun
because generally everyone likes humor ….wasn't my intention for my remark
to be taken seriously. I know that generally all contestants of any contest,
usually the winner (s) are chosen randomly in a pool of contestants that
submitted the correct answer (s). I sincerely hope that Travis don't penalize
me for my remark … I would really love a chance at winning the new
      Wolfman on DVD.

      • Noel Carter says:

we'll maybe with some luck we'll both win=) i truly did love the throw back to old universal horror

        • It sure would be nice. I sincerely hope that the monster movie genre makes a comeback. Enough with movies like SAW, etc. I'm a BIG FAN of horror and sci-fi, especially the classic
horror. So I'm really pulling for the monster-horror genre of film to make a return. We've been
inundated with the SLASHER/torture oriented horror type films for quite some time. It's time
for the MONSTER and GIANT MONSTER film genres to make a comeback!

          • Noel Carter says:

EXACTLY i'm in total agreement, but right now i'm more tired of VAMPIRES at this point; someone needs to make a film that puts the fear back into mainsteam america's hearts concerning vampires

maybe Universal and Rick Baker could be the ones to do it, certainly would be refreshing haha

          • Agreed. In regards to the recent influx of VAMPIRE oriented films, etc…this is just another facet of the modern day horror (if you even want to call these new VAMPIRE flicks horror ). I don't. They're ALL aimed at the younger audience, predominantly teen girls. And thats fine. But what about the rest of us horror fans? the people who grew up watching the classic universal monster/horror films and the giant monster movies, the hammer horror films, etc.? I also believe that there are alot of other fans out there today who's been longing for the return of the classic style horror/monster film. It's a nice thought to think that Rick Baker and Universal could be the one's to relaunch the CLASSIC horror and monster genres.

          • Noel Carter says:

it is a very nice thought but as long as there's money to be made that cows gonna keep getting milked

BUT OUR TIME WILL COME, right now i'm just happy to say that im a teenaged girl who isn't robsessed and is able to appreciate movies for how well the stories told rather than if theirs a hot ugy in them or not

  8. Thats good, Noel. You are in the minority for your age. And as you say, hopefully our time will come. :-)

  9. 1, 6 Oscars
2, He played Duke the Dog Faced Boy in Pee Wees Big Top movie. Lon Chaney Jr. played the original universal wolfman.

  14. Has anyone here received an e-mail stating they WON a Wolfman DVD??
I was informed by Travis (via email ) that the Wolfman drawing is over.
So I was wondering if anyone here that has posted had won a copy ? and if
so, congratulations! …and NO, I wasn't one of the winners in the Wolfman
contest, I'm sad to say. :-(

    • Yes, the contest has technically ended. We appreciate the massive number of entries, but unfortunately we did have a very limited quantity of THE WOLFMAN DVDs. We had another contest for GREEN ZONE on DVD and I hope to have some more DVD contests available soon, so keep reading and keep trying to win.
