Who Wants to See IRON MAN 2 With the Movie Geeks?
The Summer movie season is upon us with a couple of dozen heavy hitters just waiting to blow your movie geek mind. Of course, we, here at We Are Movie Geeks, love you, and we want your Summer movie season to begin a few days early. That’s why we are giving away passes for a screening of IRON MAN 2 three days before the film’s release. The screening is at Chesterfield Galaxy 14 (yes, the Mega Screen) on Tuesday, May 4th at 7PM. Check below on how to get your passes.
First and foremost, this is a St. Louis screening. If you will not be in St. Louis on May 4th, please do not enter this contest.
Here’s all you have to do, and, be warned, we want real, “Iron Man” fans in on this one. The second IRON MAN film deals with Whiplash, Justin Hammer, Black Widow, and War Machine, but there are so many more lines of story any future, IRON MAN films can take. We want you to give us your best. Go back through your old “Iron Man” comics. I know your mother didn’t throw them ALL out. Give us your ideas for where a third film in the series could go. Throw these in the comments section below, and we’ll be picking the best for the tickets.

I will be totally honest with you. I have never read an Iron man comic….I was more Archie. I saw the first movie, and totally loved it. I really want to see this one also, and hope there will be a third installment.
I will check the marvel comic site and see what I can locate as to older comic stories and see where the possibilities of another installment might take all of us action/comic fans in the future.

I think the next movie could have two storylines that intersect. 1. Tony Stark and Nick Fury struggling over the direction of Shield with Tony using his political and financial prowess to try and control shield. 2. The theft of the Iron Man suit by Spymaster and sold to a foreign government who uses specs from Vanko's lab to build several versions of Titanium Man/Crimosn Dynamo. Stark, unable to take down this threat by himself must work with Fury and Shield to take down this army of power suits.
Here it is. The 3rd film opens with the advanced radar tracking system at Stark enterprises track something that fell from the sky. After an investigation the crew comes back changed. The skrulls have taken over their body. a second object falls and it is a Kree, (Captain Marvel, the Green Armor, not that red&blue cosmic suit shit) hunting down the threat to the whole universe. Iron Man and Capt. Marvel teams up to save earth from the threat of the Skrull. It could pave the way for a Captain Marvel movie or better it could lay the groundwork for the Marvel "Secret Wars" adaptation.
Depending on how this film goes I'm pretty sure the third is going to deal with the Mandarin and the Makluan Rings. Also they might go into his heart disease and substance abuse.

the choices…of course we are leading to the mandarian, demon in a bottle, and heart disease…but i would love to see an extremis movie, maybe after the avengers movie stark takes control of shield from fury and leads us to avengers 2:civil war??
Assuming SHIELD is established in maybe the Avengers movie (maybe after Tyrone Hill's above commented film!), I think we need to get into HAMMER.
Noman Osborn taking over SHIELD after the Skrull incident and replacing all the folks loyal to "the good guys" (including Iron Man) and essentially usurping his position as head of the Earth defense would also be a funny in-joke to all of us that noticed how Iron Patriot was pictured on the Iron Man cologne, LOL. How far Tony goes to protect the lists created under the Superhuman Registration Act (I won't spoil it, but *far*) really shows how far he's come from the, to be frank, ass that he once was. His treatment after being arrested with prejudice and blamed for the crisis simply because he was head of the defense that failed would allow for excellent flashbacky contrast to his being held the first time, when he created the suit–we'll see what kind of innovation his desperation brings out this time to solve the problem.
If they made this an Iron Man film (rather than an Avengers or under some other name) and focused it a lot on him, it could be written into a great ending to the Iron Man movie saga (trilogy or more-olgy).
the third sequel will be more appropriate to have Iron Man track down somewhere in the Middle East and deal with Bin Laden and his fanatic followers. To infiltrate this area with the newest technology will be more realistic to overpower terrorism.
I think Tony Stark is captured in Afghanistan and tourtured by Raza. Mandarin and the Makloan rings will be in the third Iron Man.

Iron man three should defiantly focus on the substance abuse and heart Disease, these are serious issues to Americans maybe if we see it and the effect the iron man we will wake up
As much as I would kill to see Marvel make a "Civil War" arc movie, I don't see that happening in the near future.
So lets consider that the third movie will most likely be released after the Avengers movie. If that's the case, it is safe to say that pursuing a storyline with the Mandarin would be the best way to go. I think he was even eluded to in the first Iron Man, only briefly. The Mandarin is a total badass in the comics and one of Iron Man's most popular arch-enemies.
The plot for the movie could focus on introducing the Mandarin with some brief origin coverage, which is rather interesting, and then move on to him attempting to steal technology from Tony Stark. Perhaps the giant destruction ray the Mandarin builds could serve as the climax.
It would be exciting to see what modern special effects could accomplish with displaying the various powers the Mandarin has at disposal from his rings. Hollywood has a great selection of Asian actors they could cast in a role like this; though Jet Li comes to mind as possibly the most formidable.
The only downfall with going this route is the fact that Marvel seems the need to expand the cast of heroes/villains with every sequel it makes. Hell, we are up to 5 or so already in Iron Man 2. The Mandarin vs Iron Man comics had little room for sidekicks, so that could be a bit of a turn off for Marvel actually going that route.
He should battle substance abuse and heart disease? I mean really? Really? You should be banned from seeing the film for that suggestion. As for him taking care of Bin Laden, only if it was for real. What is Bin Laden going to do? Spruce up his dialysis machine? But you are on to something…
Here is your story line for Iron Man 3: It is about time Hollywood addresses the War On Terrorism issue and who better to bring this war to an end (at least in the movie world) than Tony Stark who designed Iron Man to escape terrorists and Captain America who we all remember the iconic image of him mourning the Sept. 11th attacks? Sound crazy? Well, the two teamed up numerous times over the years and there is even a story where they battle terrorists linked to both of their origins. With a Captain America movie now in the works, it should be no problem to throw these two together for one amazingly good time watching them fight Al Qaeda who enlists the help of a few Super Villians such as Dark Hawk, Colossus, and Doctor Doom. How funny would it be to have a moment where Doctor Doom and Captain America (Played by Chris Evans who also played the Human Torch in F4) run into each other and say, "Haven't I see you before?" Just to make Buggs happy, there is a scene where Iron Man blows a hole in the side of a mountain, revealing Osama Bin Laden's hiding place which subsequently stops the battling between the super heroes and villians as they all shoot a missle up his ass. Throw in some heroics by the U.S. Military and you have the feel good action movie of the year!
For Iron Man 3 we find out that Mandarin the the head of a secret organization that over sees the 10 rings, and was actually responsible for bring Tony Stark out to the world as Iron Man. Meanwhile Mandarin has captured the Hulk and want to use him for world domination and the end of Iron Man. During the film Iron Man saves the Hulk and the Hulk turn on Mandarin to destroy him and save the world!
Do a combination of stories. Use elements of the Extremis storyline…give his suit some kind of virus that causes it to act erratic or perhaps allows someone else to control it remotely. As a result, Tony is accused of treason by the US government as in the "Ten Rings to Rule the World" story. Maybe the US government could put out a bounty on him and he could have a range of people gunning for him.
Tony Stark is in Vegas for an Arms show and (this is the side plot) he falls off the wagon. Sorta like a lost weekend. He has to get controll of his alcohol problem because a team of bad guys (Marauder, Gladiator and unicorn have teamed up to steal the weapon prototypes that are at the Arms show. He may need the help of the West Coast Avengers( that is if the Avengers movie has already hit the big screen), or Prince Namor the Sub-Mariner. I went with quantity over quality of bad guys because except for The Mandarin, The villians in the first hundred or so issues were pretty weak.
Iron Man 2’s storyline will weave around the demon in the bottle story, with Tony Stark facing the aftermaths of his superhero coming out. If Iron Man can overcome both his personal problems and the villains from Iron Man 2, then we can expect his real nemesis to show up in the following movie, namely the evil Mandarin, in Iron Man 3. Or depending on where the second movie goes, Iron Man 3 be in a perfect place to set up the Armor Wars. Tony Stark believes Justin Hammer has stolen the secret to his Iron Man armor technology and sold it to villainous heroes around the world. Stark thinks the only way he can ensure the safety of the information is to destroy Hammer's files and the existing armor.
Isn't it time to give Iron Man a love interest that can keep up with him?? Bring on Iron Lady or better yet Iron Maiden!!! Of course she will be a brilliant cardioligist, who will find the needed cure, all in the name of love!!
If you combined a story about his father and Mandarin with a split from War Machine due to substance abuse, that would be a strong and deep story.
