McG Talks TERMINATOR 5

Joseph McGinty Nichol, otherwise known as McG for those of you who still like to refer to him as that, participated in a BD-Live chat yesterday for TERMINATOR SALVATION. Among the many points that came up during the chat (McG putting down TERMINATOR 3, saying he only watched one episode of THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES, and Hitler…yes, Hitler was mentioned at some point) was the possibility of TERMINATOR 5. McG is still adamant that a TERMINATOR 5 and TERMINATOR 6 are still happening and that he is the director on duty for both of them.
We’ll see how this ultimately plays out considering the rights are still up in the air and could fall into anyone’s arms at this point. Halcyon said this past week that the auction could come to a conclusion on February 1st. I would like to point out how disheartening it is the thought that in 5 to 10 years we could have more TERMINATOR films that have been directed by McG than those directed by James Cameron.
He did claim on the BD-Live chat that Sarah Connor would be making an appearance in the next film and that there was a chance Robert Patrick may make an appearance as a scientist who becomes the model for the T-1000.
Seriously, though, take all of this with a big, heaping spoonful of salt, because once these rights issues are sorted out, there is no telling what direction the TERMINATOR franchise may take. For now, though, it seems McG is ready and willing to take on a fifth and sixth film.

no. he should not be the director. He completely destroys the time traveling theory by saying that the movie is going to see machines going back in time without the need of organic skin. Is this Terminator or Stargate? seriously. Modern-day London and conventional weapons? Sounds like transformers. We want to see destroyed LA and all the other high tech stuff that was seen in T1 and T2!!!! If McG is gonna direct i say scrap the franchise and get a season 3 of T:SCC. that show was better than T3 and TS combined.
oh really
What is yalls problem. No terminator salvation was not what we expected, and no it did not feel like a james cameron terminator. But it wasnt supposed to. People anticipated the future war for 29 years. They wanted to see the aftermath and destruction of judgement day. We saw it. It was as bleak as we imagined. It was McG's job to take the film in a different direction, because it was going in a different direction. Its an action film for the love of God. So McG did a great job, get over it
I liked Terminator Salvation. Particularly the Marcus character.
Yes, McG did a great job making an action film, but James Cameron's TERMINATOR 2: Judgment Day, for the love of God, was a MUCH BETTER action film!!!
You make no sense here.
Both of James Cameron's Terminator films featured footage SHOWING what the future was like, and it was bleaker than I imagined Salvation being, and not really did I imagine it, because I did not have to, IT WAS THERE ON THE SCREEN!!!
NO IMAGINATION REQUIRED.
BTW. I hope McG does direct it, because he was real passionate about the film and longed to see the franchise ressurected. He wanted to show us the future.
Sure, he wanted to show us the future and he did and now he wants to take us back into the past? With Hitler? WTF?
Ok i agree that idea is pretty stupid
McG is a piece of shit director. Terminator Salvation wasn't all that bad, but it could have been a hell of a lot better without the director of Charlies Angels. Both these movies jumped the shark on the franchises.
Great News!!!!!!!!!!! There is news buzzing around hollywood that james cameron will be directing Terminator 5!!! Dont know how much truth is in that, but lets keep our fingers crossed.
BTW theres also news that this is a joke, but it is listed as one of Camerons future projects on IMDB
If 'AVATAR' hit's big, and I think it will , James Cameron should spend every cent of his profits winning that auction, to obtain the rights to the future Terminator films… And I think he has an obligation to the "ENTIRE WORLD" to do so at this point.
I hate Salvation, Mcg is such a looser, a liar, a thief, I know I'm not gonna get my money back, but I wish (he said it's a war movie) he gave the money he earned and gave it to the American soldiers familys wich died on iraq, he made trash, and earned money with it, he dos not deserve it, Robbery, Looser, do as Bill Murray said, Die McG.
