Director’s Roundtable

118529-directors_roundtable_490

As the holiday song goes, it’s the most wonderful time of the year.  For me that’d be Awards Season. The Hollywood Reporter has posted these 3 interesting clips from my favorite group, the Directors, with a roundtable discussion that includes Kathryn Bigelow (THE HURT LOCKER), Quentin Tarantino (INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS), Peter Jackson (THE LOVELY BONES), James Cameron (AVATAR), Jason Reitman (UP IN THE AIR), and Lee Daniels (PRECIOUS).

There’s no doubt that these auteurs all have something to contribute to THR’s Q & A roundtable, but just listen to Tarantino in the clips.  He’s the master of the table and loving it! Veteran, Oscar-winning directors, Cameron and Jackson, have the self-assured, masterful responses. Bigelow and Daniels are both class-acts, with concise answers. And how does the flavor of the year, Jason Reitman, fare against today’s A-List filmmakers? He just comes off as the snotty-nose kid, sitting there in awe of this elite group he’s found himself, due in large part to his director father, Ivan Reitman, part of.

First Question: Are you an Insider or an Outsider?

Second Question: What’s the Toughest Scene to Film?

Third Question: What would you do instead of directing?

Hi would you mind sharing which blog platform you’re working with? I’m planning to start my own blog soon but I’m having a tough time choosing between BlogEngine/Wordpress/B2evolution and Drupal. The reason I ask is because your layout seems different then most blogs and I’m looking for something unique. P.S Sorry for being off-topic but I had to ask!
