Postal Service is definitely a favorite of mine, I listen to Give Up on a pretty regular basis, and I'm really hoping Ben Gibbard reunites with Dntel soon, since I've long since lost interest in Death Cab For Cutie.

And I suppose the reason why people don't comment on much else besides the giveaways is because they're all busy posting on bigger sites like AICN or Live for Films. I'm hoping my Audio/Visual column will bring in some fresh blood. We'll see. Thanks for the feedback! (and hey, I posted the second piece, so give a look when you have the chance.)

God I love Postal Service. Anyway, continue the awesome work. One last thing, I only just recently found this site, but as a self proclaimed movie geek I was wondering why there are so few posts to some of these articles... Its a great site with great info that's all posted extremely quick and before any of the other blogs I follow... just wanting to know why the only comments are on the DVD give away posts... not that I wouldn't love some free DVDs but where's the love??

LOL wow thank you so much for verifying my love for the Children of Men OST. i will definitely see the movie first chance i get, though i really wish i would've caught it in theater, because i hear it's a visual feast. the next Music in Film will be on Monday, and will continue to be every Monday given that it gets published on time since that's out of my hands right now. The Once soundtrack is something I have a very controversial opinion on because the music itself was what the movie was born from, and that makes it a very precarious pick. i think there's a big advantage in having your film follow the conception and beginning of the music involved, versus a soundtrack composed after the film itself is created. i love that soundtrack, but it's a very different beast from your typical soundtrack, and for that reason it's going to get an honorable mention rather than being part of the list. also, Garden States was phenomenal. made me actually like what is being marketed as "indie rock" to a certain extent, especially The Shins and Postal Service.

I can't wait for the rest of these. Children of Men is one of my favorite films and I think the soundtrack certainly makes it all the better. I suggest you see it immediately. The Music (and lack of music) during certain scenes work perfectly with the extremely long cuts throughout. Most people don't notice them but I think it's what makes the whole thing feel so personal. When should I expect the next Music in Film post? I'm curious as to whether or not the Once soundtrack meets the criteria... Also saddened that Garden States sound track won't be seen on this list, Though I understand the limits you have set. Hurry up!!!
