No LINCOLN LAWYER For Tommy Lee Jones

It was reported last month that Tommy Lee Jones, who had made waves with his 2005 theatrical feature film debut as a director with THE THREE BURIALS OF MELQUIADES ESTRADA, had signed on to not only direct but star in the adaptation of Michael Connelly’s novel, THE LINCOLN LAWYER.  Now, according to Variety, Jones has left the project due to creative differences over the film’s screenplay.

Adapted for film by John Romano (INTOLERABLE CRUELTY), the story centers on a criminal defense lawyer who operates out of a Lincoln Town Car.  Matthew McConaughey is set to star.

THE LINCOLN LAWYER is set up at Lakeshore who is, surely, scrounging fast for a director.  Production is set to begin in the Spring.
