to answer mary jones question, i dont think so. I just got back from seeing the film and some parts would be quite frightening. I heard at least 2 or 3 young ones crying. As far as the film itself though? i thought it was perfect. It lived up to every single expectation i had and i cannot remember the last time a movie did that. Spike Jonze is a genius.

Yeah it's definitely a classic. Now this movie will be a classic too. Not since Polar Express has a children's book been adapted so lavishly and with so much care.

EXCELLENT review, and I agree wholeheartedly. I am a "thirtysomething" who grew up with this book, and have since bought it for each of my friends when they've had children. This movie was everything I could have hoped for, and Jonze continues to prove his imaginative brilliance to a sometimes overly cynical world.
