Hammer These First Shots from THE RESIDENT Into Your Head

There are a number of reasons to be ecstatic about the upcoming thriller, THE RESIDENT.   For one, and possibly the biggest reason to be looking forward to this film, THE RESIDENT offers the return after a more than 30-year absence of Hammer Film Productions to the world of feature film, horror movie making.   The last feature film from Hammer was 1979’s THE LADY VANISHES.   While that film isn’t exactly a staple in the world of horror (the remake of Hitchcock’s thriller from ’38 was a box office failure that all but bankrupted the company), to fans, Hammer is a brand unto itself in terms of stylistic and unforgettable horror.

Not only that, but THE RESIDENT features a pretty stellar cast.   Hilary Swank plays a New York doctor who senses someone in her Brooklyn apartment building is watching her.   She’s right, and the stalker ends up being The Comedian himself, Jeffrey Dean Morgan.   Christopher Lee, making his first Hammer horror appearance since 1976, plays Morgan’s character’s grandfather, and even Lee Pace is on board this one.   If you don’t know him, then you certainly haven’t seen THE FALL or watched much of PUSHING DAISIES.

Anyway, thanks to our good friends over at Shock Till You Drop, we have these first two images from the film.
