The original Manchurian Candidate is one of the best bets as far as espionage films go. Fantastic performances all around, with a wonderfully dark premise. The strange intercutting of flashback footage of the brainwashing process was a creative feat.
How about corky romano. Fun, stupid, crazy, great action, by far the best espionage film.
My favorite spy movie stars the original action hero-James Bond. My favorite Bond film is "Casino Royale". It rebooted the lagging franchise, and stars the second best actor to play James Bond, Daniel Craig. The film's darker tone, amazing stunts, and great performances make "Casino Royale" one of the best spy/espionage of all-time.
Danger Diabolik!! How the king of horror, Mario Bava, can go from Black Sunday to that, is astounding. Plus … the Beastie Boys showed there love for it through their music video "Body Movin"! The film is a classic.
My favorite spy movie is "Casino Royale". Daniel Craig, the best actor to play James Bond, reinvigorates the 40+ year old franchise. It has everything a great spy movie should: great performances, amazing stunts, and great action set pieces.
Hitchcock's North by Northwest is not only a great example of the director's work but also an all-around fantastic espionage film. The plot moves so quickly and to so many locations it's a wonder it retains the continuity that it does. Cary Grant also delivers some fairly hilarious lines which adds to the movie's tension between villainy and light-hearteded mistaken identity.
"Confessions of a Dangerous Mind."
I'd have to say just about any James Bond film. From Dr. No to Quantum of Solace, they ooze brilliance. They perfectly combine the elements of sex, violence and mystery to keep you hooked from the beginning. In addition, not only is Bond a spy, but he is quite easily the most dreamy spy of all time. I can't wait to see if Dr. Whitacre can hold a candle to Bond in terms of stealthiness, silly-yet-seriousness and sexiness.
I'm gonna go with the Bourne series, especially the first film, " The Bourne Identity". That movie reinvigorated the spy series for the 21st century, and at the same time, made the Bond series seem like a parody of the entire spy genre that it had been reduced to. It's no coincidence, that when "Casino Royale" came out, it mirrored the tone of the Jason Bourne films. Also, the action scenes were amazingly intense. I can't wait for Bourne 4 in 2011.
ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE!!!…Today (9-9-09) is My Birthday!!!
The Bourne Identity – Jason Bourne – need I say more?
My favorite spy film would have to be Goldfinger. In my opinion it is the greatest James Bond film. Such great creativity went iton that film. It has everything you could ask for in a movie, making the perfect spy movie.
They've yet to make a movie that could hold up against the TV's
"The Prisoner" with Patrick MacGoohan.
The Bourne Series – Awesome
It would have to be the Austin Powers series of films and who doesn't love a spy with bad teeth and a very hairy chest!
Is this Osborne Cox? Burn After Reading has to be one of the best
The Best: Jack Ryan, the best unwilling CIA agent in any Tom Clancy seires movie, ie: Patriot Games with Harrison Ford.
The Bourne Identity – Jason Bourne, i love the whole series they are some of my favorite with all the action love and great story line! i cant wait to see this movie though cause it looks so funny with all the great spy stuff to!
"No Way Out" with Kevin Costner, Gene Hackman, Sean Young and Will Patton. This 1987 film is a thriller about the search for a legendaray Russian spy to cover up the murder of the Defense Secretary's mistress. It's just enjoyable today as it was 20 years ago.
I have to go with something different. I would say Monk. He plays a detective but to do so he acts as a spy does. But you have he extreme weird and hypocondriatic self whom makes the show funny as well.
I am totally going to say the bourne identity and Bourne supremecy!!! UMMM only because MATT DAMON is FINEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!! i love all of those they made me get involved. i was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I am kind of disappointed that he had to gain 30lbs!!! but i love Matt Damon!!! and i am his biggest fan!!!! I have books on him own all his movies and even the people magazines with him on the cover!!! PLEASE I AM BEGGING PICK ME!!!!
Pretty insightfull post. Never thought that it was this uncomplicated after all. I have spent a good deal of my time looking for someone to explain this topic clearly and you’re the only person that ever did that. Thanks a lot! Keep it up!
