EXCLUSIVE: Sets Pics from ‘De Repente, La Pelicula’
DE REPENTE, LA PELICULA (roughly translated as “Suddenly, The Movie”) is a a dark-burlesque pharse, which just recently finished shooting in Caracas, Venezuela. The film stars Carlos Leon (SHADOWLAND) as John Loveland, a Venezuelan filmmaker who is hired by an American producer for movie being made in the Venezuelan jungle. The producer has an ulterior motive and uses the movie as a cover for his more criminal goals. John Loveland is oblivious to these darker intentions of the producer, taking on the adventure which leads to hilarious madness. The film also co-stars Enrique Dorantes and Luke Grande.

DE REPENTE, LA PELICULA is written and directed by the prominent South American filmmaker Luis Armando Roche. The movie is co-produced by Arsiete and Alfareria Cinematografica. The expected release date for DE REPENTE, LA PELICULA is sometime in 2010, with plans to hit cinemas and festivals around the world. The film is currently in post-production, so be on the lookout for a trailer soon!

wonder if we'd be able to see it in the US?
sounds like a funny movie, a pharse is very rare to find in cinema these days. I saw Shadowland at the SLIFF and liked very much.

Would love to watch this feature. I've met Carlos Leon, Wyatt and the female producer (can't think of her name right now!) at the Shadowland premiere in July. Great people and Shadowland truly impressed me as I thought it was just a little movie from the Midwest full of bad actors, bad lighting, etc (ala the 48 hrs project) but I was wrong. It's an indie masterpiece!
cannot wait to see this new one. The story sounds good and it seems it has a great group of producers behind it so I'm sure it's a good filme. Hope we get to watch it in the US.

From what I understand, SLIFF is one of the festivals the film plans on playing. Raphael, the producer you are thinking of is Gayle. Her and Wyatt, David and Caitlin are all great!

Rafael, the producers of DE REPENTE, LA PELICULA will try to submmit into SLIFF but it''ll have to be for next year's (2010) because the movie is just going to post-production now and the SLIFF will take place in November (there is no way they'd have it ready in 5 weeks!)…once they have a trailer or any U.S. showings, I'll let everybody know…you can find a page on Facebook with more pics, and behind the camera images under "De Repente, La Pelicula"…

ATTENTION!! This Movie is now being titled "ASOMATE, LA PELICULA" in order to differentiate from Venezuela's President, Hugo Chavez' radio shows now titled "De Repente"…

looks promising! carlos leon is a total champion, i adore him. can’t wait to see him in this film, Shadowland was a smashing success! hope the leading actress can step up to support him, her performances have been weak in a couple of other shorts and long films. let’s get this to Europe please, venezuelans all over the world want to get a chance to see this!
