David Cronenberg Remaking ‘The Fly

No, you didn’t just hit 88 miles per hour and travel back to 1985, and, no, we are not running retrograde news items just to feature a naked Jeff Goldblum looking sinister.  David Cronenberg is, in fact, remaking his own remake of ‘The Fly.’  According to Risky Biz Blog, Cronenberg is working with Fox to potentially write and direct a reboot of the 1986 remake of the 1958, horror classic.  While Cronenberg worked on an opera version of his film that ran in Paris and LA, he has vehemently turned down offers to remake the film in the past.

Cronenberg’s original remake of ‘The Fly’ offered some groundbreaking special effects, so one can only imagine the potential for the new film with modern advances in visual effects.

No word yet on a potential release date, though, once Cronenberg is firmly on board, you can only imagine that will be close behind.  Also no word on whether Goldblum, naked or not, will be returning in any way.  Personally, I smell a cameo.
