Berg Confirmes Smith and Theron for ‘Hancock 2′

It wasn’t long ago that word came down that ‘Hancock 2′ was in the works. Within a span of a week, the project had director Peter Berg making declarations about the storyline and had two screenwriters jumping on board for Columbia. Now, it appears the two leads for the first ‘Hancock’ will be returning.
MTV caught up with Berg about Will Smith and Charlize Theron’s involvement in the sequel.
Everybody’s going to come back for a sequel.
That’s what Berg had to say on the matter. This confirms something Theron stated to MTV last September when she said she would follow Smith wherever her went.
In the article from MTV, Berg also makes mention of [SPOILERS AHEAD] his potential third superhero who would pop up in the sequel. He stated he had a well-known player in mind to fill the role.
We have [someone in mind]. I’m not gonna tell you who, but we have!
With everything moving awfully fast on ‘Hancock 2,’ we might expect an official announcement from Columbia in the coming weeks as to a start date and a potential release date.

This is awesome news, the first Hancock was original, cutting edge and funny as hell!!!….well…..the FIRST half was funny as hell…. The second half seemed like it was another movie entirely, and NOT one that was very memorable either…
Big Pimpin Willie Will – dont get me wrong, you played your role on point as always, you are one of my fav actors of the present day! (Big ups to your super sexy wife btw, who is equally classy and amazing, and who reps for my home/current town Columbia!!). But the first Hancock fell apart when he went straight edged, I understand that it was to send a message to younger viewers, but lets face it the older male audience (at least 13 and up to mid 30s or so) wants to see a sequel that shows the disgruntled and hung-over, foul-mouthed but good intentioned anti-super super hero; THAT Hancock was the one that audiences fell in love with and will remember years from now, the Hancock of the second half of the first movie was utterly forgettable to the extreme… I look forward to seeing what everyone brings to the table to make the next installment as cutting edge and entertaining as the first half of the original!!!
I agree with the Grey, extremely on point and well spoken cuzin, I couldnt have typed it better myself. Find a way to make Hancock gritty, foul mouthed, sour humored and bad ass, even when slightly buzzed! THATS the Hancock that was an original superhero, the other stuff has already been done to death in countless different forms in countless other super hero themed movies, why would people want to see even more of what the second half of the first movie was all about?? Make the Second movie more like the first half of the first movie. Find a way to bring the seriousness too sure, but dont make the switch-up so extreme and almost tangibly seperable from one (comedy) to the next (drama) as in the first movie!
