Friday DVD Giveaway: ‘Sons of Anarchy’ Season 1

sonsofanarchydvd

After the rebirth of badass biker films with ‘Hell Ride’, FX announced ‘Sons of Anarchy’ which is a show based on…you guessed it, badass bikers!

We got a couple copies of season 1 on DVD and we want you guys to experience this show. Although it is on FX it still spares very little. Check out this synopsis:

The Sons of Anarchy is an outlaw motorcycle club with many charters in the United States. The Charming local is the original founding charter of the Sons of Anarchy.

The Charming charter is based out of a clubhouse adjacent to the Teller-Morrow auto mechanic shop. Led by Clay Morrow, the club protects and controls Charming through close community relationships, bribery and violent intimidation. The full name of the motorcycle club is Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club, Redwood Original; on occasion, the show will abbreviate it as SOA, though more frequently the club is referred to as SAMCRO (a rough acronym of The Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club, Redwood Original) or Sam Crow. This nickname is also reflected in the original title of the show, Forever Sam Crow.[6] The club’s leathers also refer to “Men of Mayhem,” Jax has worn a hat that says “Reaper Crew,” and their logo is a grim reaper wielding an M-16 with scythe blade and holding a crystal ball. Another symbol of the club is the crow. (At least two female characters affiliated with the club have crow tattoos.) As for the motorcycles, the Sons mostly ride customized Harley-Davidson Dyna’s.

Club members have “day jobs” in local industries, most of them working at Clay’s auto repair shop, but they primarily make money by importing illegal weapons and selling them to drug gangs in the East Bay, along with protection runs for local businesses by protecting valuable truck shipments from hijacking.

So what you need to do in order to win a copy for yourself is tell us your favorite biker movie, or favorite moment from the show and why. We will then pick the winners at random and notify you via email.

If you aren’t one of the lucky winners, you can still pick up a copy. It hit shelves on DVD and Blu-Ray on August 18th!

  1. This ones easy! It's gotta be Easy Rider, hands down. It's what made Jacky boy a star, has Peter Fonda playing a character named "Captain America" and Steppenwolf on the soundtrack. I guarantee you the boys of SAMCRO sit around watching Easy Rider when they're not busy raising hell.

  2. Easy RIder is a definite classic. I have to say my favorite moment on the show is when Tig told Juice to "drug the dogs". So the dummy drugs the dobermans with crank! It was just a really funny moment in this awesome show.

  3. Richard Real says:

My fav moment of Sons, was the end of the first season. The whole "rebirth" of Jax. The way it is showing his transformation from the current ways the Sons were operating back to the vision that his father had of the gang.

  4. Since Tyler Golding took the favorite biker movie part, I'm going with the favorite scene.
Many scenes in pilots are good, but SOA had the perfect scene in the end of their pilot –
we see Jax with Tara and their love/conflict, his new-born son, his awesome tattoo, and all with Bobby (Elvis) singing "Can't Help Falling in Love". Most amazing was the very last part of this where Jax and Emma are standing next to Abel, and Clay is standing in the back giving a kinda devilish look.

  5. Best bike movie is The Wild One with Brando… Fricken Classic. Favorite parts of the show include castration of the child molesting clown… killin the stalker dea agent then having sex with his corpse layin there bleedin out… and of course who could forget protectin the Mr. Jacky jackoff.. lol. I like the fact that most of the stars actually can ride a bike and and do poker runs and special events with the bikere community.

  6. My fav in sons was when the group found a way to out smart the Feds by hiding the guns in the septic pumping truck right before getting raided. I am torn…I also loved the slap with the skateboard too!! Lol!!!

  7. How can you not love seeing a guy get a tattoo blow-torched off his back. That scene was brutal and amazing.

  8. Wild Hogs. Right after the fight scene, Peter Fonda appears and tells the MC to get out and ride til they remember what riding is about.

  9. World’s Fastest Indian. Speed and.ingenuity is what it is about

  10. Oh I just LOVE this show!!! Jax is SO yummy. My fav biker movie is Mask (1985)

  11. Oh I just LOVE this show!!! Jax is SO yummy. My fav biker movie is Mask (1985)

  12. Easy Rider. Classic chopper movie. Cool pool scene.

  13. got to be Quadrophenia, awesome, who doesn't love stuff based on rock operas?!

  14. I'm going to have to repeat Easy Rider! What can I say? It's the best!

  15. I think Biker Boyz was a great biker movie lots of bikes and hot girls what more do you want…

  16. shooting the creepy Atf agent, goofy song pkaying in the background, clothes gettign ripped off and the best damn 10 seconds of Television that we were wating all season for..enough said

  17. Easy Rider was definitely the best.

  18. Like most of the others, Easy Rider was the best biker movie.

  19. recently watched hell ride, maybe not the all time greatest but i liked it

  20. recently watched hell ride, maybe not the all time greatest but i liked it

  21. son's best would have to be when the feds have them surrounded waiting on the warrant to search the shop/clubhouse and they're sitting on a shipment of weapons, with backs against the wall, they come up with haulin'em out in the septic pump truck, picking them back up had to be fun.

  22. How can you pick just one scene from SOA as the best? I can give you at least 10 to 20, but I guess the ones that stick out for me are episode 8 "The Pull' when Jax,s come to the aid of Tara who his being stalked by agent Kohn,s and after shooting him in the head and his body lie bleeding and dead on the floor next to the bed Jax and Tara make love, and then theres the episode when they give Kyle the choice of( Fire or Knife) in the removal of his SOA tattoo and he choose fire and they burned it off with a cutting torch. Only 2 words BAD ASS!!!!! Then of course there is the "The Sleep Of Babies" episode when Clay order the hit on Opie and Tig accidentally kills Donna instead, how sad was that. I love this show and hands down the BEST motorcycle show I have ever had the pleasure of watching.

  23. the best one to me is the skateboard in the face I have watched it over and over .I got my whole family watching this show . We had a party in honor of the new season

  24. best biker movie is Beyond The Law w/Charlie Sheen and Michael Madsen

  25. This show is amazing! Jax is such an unusual guy with his baby Abel and his future of President of Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Crew, Redwood Original. It's so different than your regular tv show – these guys have a good heart, but deal weapons, maintain a porn company, and try to shut down the Mayans, a Latino-American gang in Charming, California. You gotta check it out!

  26. karen rogers thomas says:
