Hidden Phone Number in ‘District 9′ Trailer

Last night I was watching the new trailer for District 9 and I came across a phone number on a bilboard in the trailer. It was 1-866-666-6001. Feel free to call it yourself. It was quite a surreal experience and one of the better pieces of viral marketing. I hung up quickly though and decided to share my experience with you.

Here’s my video:

I later went to the website mentioned. www.MNUSpreadsLies.com and found that it was website done by one of the non-humans located in the slums of district 9. This is slowly becoming my most anticipated film of the year, and I can’t help but feel the excitement I did when I was entangled in all the Cloverfield mysteries from last year.

Could District 9 be this years Cloverfield? Who knows. Check out the video. Sorry if I seem hyper, I was just excited.

If you have any more cool viral marketing on this film please post it in the comments. I’d love to see what else is going on.

  3. Hi, sorry for requesting this query here, but I can’t find a contact form or something so I thought I leave my question here. I run a blogengine blog but I am receiving increased amounts of spam. I see u use wordpress, is it trouble-free to regulate spam with wordpress or doesn’t it make any difference? I hope you will respond to my comment or maybe send me an email with your answer if you don’t want to approve the comment. Best regards, Annie
