DVD Giveaway: ‘Knowing’ and ‘Push’
On July 7th, 2 of this year’s “must own sci-fi action adventures” will be coming out on DVD and Blu-Ray. For the record, the press release says, “must own” and I have yet to see either so I can’t comment. I am looking forward to checking out both films though. If you are too, or if you saw them in theaters and want to own the DVD, you are in luck. We are giving away a few copies of each. Just leave a comment telling us which movie you want and why.
KNOWING
Directed by Alex Proyas (I, Robot), Knowing stars Academy Award® winner Nicolas Cage (Best Actor, Leaving Las Vegas, 1995) as a college professor who opens a time capsule buried at his son’s elementary school. In it are some chilling predictions — some that have already occurred and others that are about to — that lead him to believe his family plays a role in the tragic events that are about to unfold. Knowing bonus features include the behind-the-scenes featurettes, “Visions of the Apocalypse” and “The Making of a Futuristic Thriller.”
PUSH
Chris Evans (Fantastic Four), Dakota Fanning (the upcoming Twilight Saga: New Moon), and two-time Academy Award nominee Djimon Hounsou (Best Supporting Actor: In America, 2002; Blood Diamond, 2006) brave telekinetic showdowns in Push. Director Paul McGuigan (Lucky Number Slevin) combines a mixture of stunning visual effects and fast-paced action sequences with an all-star cast to deliver one of the year’s most exhilarating cinematic experiences. In this futuristic, sci-fi thriller set in Hong Kong’s urban sprawl, a group of young Americans with extraordinary psychic abilities must band together and use their different talents on a mission that will enable them to escape a clandestine government agency that covets their unique capabilities. Push bonus features include candid interviews with cast and crew, deleted scenes with director commentary, and the behind-the-scenes featurette “The Science Behind the Fiction.”
I’m personally looking forward to Knowing a bit more. Let us know which one you want.

I saw both of these movies in the theatre and I hated Push and loved Knowing. Knowing had it's faults but it has one of the more interesting third acts that I've seen all year. Nicholas Cage gives us his bad acting and it shows in moments like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4MkAX91EECU but at the same time Alex Proyas overcomes all the bad rep that Nick Cage brings to this movie.
I want the Knowing DVD because the movie does something that not many films have tried to do in the last decade, meld science fiction and religion into a great thriller-esque story where we're waiting to figure out what the hell these numbers mean and why they are being put into these individuals heads
Hey, I never wanted to see Push, but I when I saw Knowing at midnight when it came out, I loved it!! It's the perfect movie. Its got suspense, action, and great cgi. Also, I'm a huge Nicolas Cage fan. I have seen everyone of his movies, my favorite being this one and The Rock. So please, I would really like the Knowing dvd, because I dont have any money to go buy it when it comes out. Thak you.
I'd love to see Knowing. I've enjoyed following Nicolas Cage's career + would love to see this new one…pretty please of course!
Djimon Hansou looks pretty cool in Push. I'm wondering whether he ends up being the real bad guy or not. I hear there's a comic book coming out based on the movie, which is surprising
I saw "Push" and enjoyed it some, thought it was somewhat creative and it had its moments. I never saw "Knowing"
I saw both but I would pick "Push" to own. I never understood all the hype for Knowing. Maybe I just didn't get it. I enjoyed Push so much more and would love to own it! Thanks.
I wanted to see both of these in theatre but I missed them. Somehow I think Push would be better though since I just love Chris Evans! Also I few of the other actors as well.
Haven't seen either but i would like to see Knowing more because Nicholas Cage is always entertaining in any movie he does.
I would love to get "Push"!! I never got to see it but I wanted too. It seems to be like Heroes, hopefully before it started to suck. And Dakota Fanning is probably the most talented child actress out there so it would be cool to see! Push Please~~
Knowing never made it to Portland, ME, but I've wanted to see it since I saw the first trailer. I'm a big Nick Cage fan. (yeah, I even liked 'Next', despite its flaws) This would be an awesome Independence Day win!
OMFG! So I didn't win, but I did just see Knowing tonight. (thanks, Redbox… sort of) While I have, on occasion, enjoyed deus ex machina endings, this particular example just reeks! There's 100 minutes of fairly decent movie, followed by 21 minutes of concentrated, CGI-enhanced fail. Should have checked Rotten Tomatoes earlier.
Hey Roy, you didn't lose yet. The contest is still going on. See my comment below for details. If you would like to change your pick, let us know. Good luck!
I, like many others in here, have not had a chance to see either, but both movies sounded interesting when they were out in theaters. While I would love to have a copy of both (and hey, if you want to send me one of each, I certainly won't stop you! haha), if I had to pick one, I'd say I'd like to have a copy of PUSH. Both movies look great, but the action sequences from the previews of PUSH just looked amazing! I hope everyone has a terrific and safe 4th of July!
I'm a big sci fi fan so I'd really be happy with either. But I haven't seen Push yet so I think I'd have to choose that one.
I'm a big scifi fan and they both look great, knowing because I'm a big cage fan
I saw Push and loved it with all the special effects and would love to win it. I've not seen Knowing but hope to see as it looked really good.
I did not see either in the theaters, although I wanted to. Push is one that I will definitely rent, as I am a fan of movies in that genre. However, I will have to pick Knowing, after hearing the buzz from friends about it.
I would love "Push"… Djimon Hounsou is such a cool actor, yeah some of his films aren't the most high-brow but he has amazing screen presence in everything he does… I'm glad to see that Dakota Fanning is continuing to appear in a variety of film genres…
I saw both movies in the theater. I think that Push had much more potential than Knowing, but didn't bring its A game. Knowing was a better film. However, I think that Push opened itself up for a 2nd or 3rd chance with then ending which allows room to grow into its potential. Since I have seen them both, I think I would choose Push because I hope that it gets a sequel, and it does a better job of building on the foundation that Push has built… Thanks for all the great give-aways and tweets!
Push -because my daughter has wanted to see this since she saw the trailer. She tried to “push” me into to going to see it to no avail and would be beside herself if I won a copy.
I would really like to have the movie Knowing. It sounds really great!
I would really like to have the movie Push . I love this type of movie.
I would love to see Knowing as I heard a lot about this movie, but had not chance to see it yet. I like Nicolas as he is a good actor and always liked his movies so far.
Push – I'll watch Camilla Belle in anything.
This is a great response so far. Just wanted to let you all know that the contest is still going on. I don't want to pick the winners until I get the DVDs in my possession since I'm not sure how many I am getting to giveaway. I should receive them very soon. Sorry for keeping you all waiting. I'll announce on here when the contest is over. Good luck everyone!
Thanks ro letting us know. Thanks for offering them.
I really would like to see the movie Knowing…plus, it would even better if I owned it! :)
Thanks!
Hope I win now, my grandson asked if I had bought it yet, lol.
