‘Rounders’ Writers Have a New Poker Movie in the Works

The guys that were responsible for writing ‘Rounders’, Brian Koppelman and David Levien, have a new poker film in the works. Leonardo Dicaprio is on board to star, and apparently is about “online casinos in Costa Rico”. We get this from THR:

Paramount has picked up an untitled pitch from Brian Koppelman and David Levien that takes place in the world of Costa Rica-based online casinos.

Leonardo DiCaprio is attached to star, and his Appian Way cohort Jennifer Davisson Killoran is producing.

Koppelman and Levien, who wrote “Ocean’s Thirteen,” covered similar ground with their debut script for “Rounders,” which starred Edward Norton and Matt Damon as high-stakes players in the underground poker scene. The writers, Davisson Killoran and DiCaprio are also teaming on “Beat the Reaper,” an adaptation of the Josh Bazell novel that is set up at New Regency.

I am pretty excited to see more stuff from these guys, especially after seeing ‘The Girlfriend Experience’ which they also wrote. Not to mention Leo is cant miss lately, and should bring his A game for this as well.
