Joss Whedon, the mastermind behind ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ and ‘Firefly’, created ‘Dollhouse’ and it aired to mixed reviews and shaky ratings but the show is fantastic.
We are giving our readers a chance to win Season 1 on DVD if you can leave us a comment, or send an email to contest(at)wearemoviegeeks.com. In the comment or email please tell us your favorite ‘Dollhouse’ moment, or a favorite from one of Joss Whedon’s previous work.
The DVD and Blu-Ray hit shelves on July 28th 2009, but you can win yours first here on wearemoviegeeks.com!

Huge Whedon fan, but I didn't get to catch Dollhouse due to a problem with my cable box. Would love to win it so I can catch it before the new season starts.
Favorite Whedon moment is pretty much any interaction between Alan Tudyk and Adam Baldwin from the Firefly Verse.
ooh, jeez, that's a hard question.
From Dollhouse my favorite is probably when Claire Saunders is revealed as being Whiskey. That was bigger than Alan Tudyk being Alpha for me.
BA lot of people love that moment, but my favorite from Buffy is a bit more Unique.
I have this strange weakness for Episode 6×05 "Life Serial," Specifically the part where Buffy breaks down to Spike and gives that amazing monologue that ends with "And the only person who I can even stand to be around is a neutered vampire who cheats at kitten poker!" ["You saw the cheating then?"]
Its simultaneously heartbreaking and hilarious, which is perfect Whedon to me. I always feel its underrated.

My favorite Dollhouse moment was the episode NEEDS when Echo, November, Sierra and Victor remember some of their history. November remembers her lost child, Sierra comes to grips with her abductor, Victor gets the girl and Echo seemingly frees all the actives. This one scene gave the main characters closure and it was fabulous to watch.
Eliza Dushku really knocked it out of the park!
I absolutely loved the moment Adele got shot… and just kept going. I totally felt her pain in that episode (not literally), but she had to forgo her trysts with "Roger" in the face of betrayal, it made her harder.. which I'm sure willl play a role in season 2
My favorite moment has to be, as scary as it is, the part in Briar Rose when Alpha slashes Victor's face. No, not because I hate Victor but because that part gave me chills down my spine. I was not expecting that at all!
When I was watching that, I was alone in the dark so it definitely made me jump. I'll admit that. I think I had nightmares that night…
Wow, choose just one, and I have the entire Whedon-verse to choose from .. Thats seems like an incalculable impossibility!! I feel like I could fill a Wikipedia page with all the Whedon-verse moments I have loved over the years, since I love everything Ive ever seen that Joss has created. Well I suppose since this is about winning Dollhouse Season 1 DVD, I'll stick to a Dollhouse favorite moment.
In Dollhouse, I would have to choose my favorite moment in season one as the moment when Alan Tudyk as Alpha has Echo in the final episode, and he programs her to be like him by programing ALL of her previous personalities from the first 11 episodes into one imprint, and Omega is born!
The reason this is my favorite moment, is because after he imprints her, you expect that there is a strong chance that she will not only A. Be as psycho as him, but B. She wll join him, and then when you find out that shes not psychotic but further more, she still cant stand him! Then that moment, where she stands up from the chair and removes the cables .. just the look on Eliza's face, and her body language is perfection because you can just FEEL how powerful she is, and you like it!!
Favorite Dollhouse moment: Topher and Sierra on Topher's birthday–it reminded me of Buffy's bday after she turned Angel into Angelus. It's the small moments that really rock.
My favorite moment so far in Dollhouse when we learned the truth about Dr. Saunders. Shoulda seen it coming but I didn't. And the conversation between Caroline and Echo in the finale.
Favorite Firefly moment (one of many): The final episode in the series when Mal and Zoe bury their former soldier colleague. They deliver him to his family, the snow is slowly falling and the final shot is of Mal as he turns and holds that introspective pose to the camera. Very poetic and very appropriate since everyone involved with the series at the time knew that Fox had pulled the plug on the series.
One of my favorite Whedon moments comes from the Angel episode "A Whole in the World." It's at the end of the episode right after Fred dies. Her body begins to convulse and falls off the bed. The next shot we see of her is as Illyria. Amy Acker in all new, kick ass makeup. She speaks one line of dialogue. "This will do." End credits. Just perfect. Amy is probably my favorite Whedon actress.
I would have said any of the fight scenes until Alpha popped up. When he uttered "Alpha meet Omega" it was the ultimate in bad-assery.
My favorite moment on Dollhouse is when Alpha is revealed – I think my jaw hit the ground because in the early episodes I figured a lot of stuff out early – this one I never saw coming! Then the double whammy was when he went to get Echo.
While I was slow to start on liking the series, by the end I was hooked. My favorite episode was the last one with Alan Tudyk. He is completely awesome in that part
I haven't yet seen Dollhouse — which is actually why I'm entering this contest, because I've been meaning to catch up! — but one of my favorite recent Whedon moments is the delivered-off-hand line by Neil Patrick Harris in Dr. Horrible's Sing -along Blog: "The world is a mess, and I just need to … rule it."
So very many cool Dollhouse moments. Amongst my favorite is the Mellie/November/sleeper agent doll bit. Such a cool sequence where she goes from victim to attacker back to frightened victim again.
dollhouse moment… i love it when alpha is walking funny down the stairs… cause someone could grab him. buffy… once more with feeling.. nuf said on that one! firefly… the whole damn series!! LOVE IT ALL!!!
In "Echoes," when everyone starts getting infected on the campus, and has flashbacks! It was like a character within a character within a character, which is a classic series moment. We got glimpses of all the reasons why they tick! Everyone's walls start coming down, and you have major comic relief in Topher and Adelle back at HQ. Best quote: "You haven't seen my Drawer of Inappropriate Starches?"
My favorite moment is probably when Paul finds out that Mellie is a doll. And I love almost everything that Topher says – I really identify with his geekiness.
My favorite moment is a simple one: in the episode "Echoes" when Topher asks Adelle, "You haven't seen my drawer of inappropriate starches??" That never stops being funny. There are plenty of other moments that are profound and moving, but that is gold for me. Also, when Echo puts her hand over Topher's heart in the season finale.
Dollhouse is everything that makes Joss great. The best part of Dollhouse so far was when Boyd punched the pervert rapist out. It was a classic Joss moment where you think that the bad guy is going to get away with it and then we get a total cowboy moment…pure genius….
I like the moment: When Dr. Saunders (Whiskey) tells Topher she understands that she is a doll. But why did he make her hate him.
Favourite moment was when they escaped.
Favourite moment was when the cop snuck into the compound.
The best moment by far in 'Dollhouse' is when Siera trys to say hello to Echo and Echo says "No", I was like "WOAH!!!!!". From that moment you knew that she had remembered her from before and that it was going to be an amazing programme.
Other than that one of my all-time favorites from Buffy is this:
Buffy: Hi. How've ya been?
Amy: Rat. You?
Buffy: Dead.
Amy: Oh.
From Firefly: The apple-grenade story
Angel: Finding out that Cordelia had already died
Overall: Hasn't happened yet BUT when either Carlos Jacott or Jonathan M. Woodward appear in 'Dollhouse' – They are… the only two actors to have appeared in all 3. I shld win for having that piece of gold there.
"The hammer… is my penis…"
It is sooo hard to choose, but I think I would have to say that the reveal of Alan Tudyk as Alpha was my favorite Dollhouse moment so far. What made it better was that Alan had previously announced that he was playing Alpha, but because of his past history, I doubted him. When he actually appeared on Dollhouse, I thought, "Okay, he was having us on. This is not Alpha." This aspect made the reveal even more fun.
My favorite moment was discovering who Alpha was, I never saw it coming!
My favorite Whedonverse moment would be in season five of Angel where Spike saves the woman in the alley and then tells her how stupid she is for walking down a dark alley while wearing high heels.
My favorite moment was when we finally find out who Alpha is. Why? Because I had been spoiled and already knew who it was, yet it still surprised me when it happened. I sat watching the episode thinking, "Oh, there's Alpha…. Hmm. Maybe the rumors were wrong. Maybe he's not Alpha. He doesn't seem like he'd be Alpha… No, he's not Alpha. Then who is Alpha? Maybe it's– AIGH! He is Alpha!" Extremely well done moment.
Favorite touching moments in Dollhouse:
1. When Echo comes back to wounded Boyd after killing the guy who tried to kill her near the end in 'The Target'.
2. When Echo looks at the 'broken' painting in 'Grey Hour', tells Boyd that she's not broken, and draws a broken face on the mirror then wipes it. Again she tells Dominique: "I'm not broken" while holding him out of the window in 'Spy in the House of Love'.
3. When Echo frees the actives in 'Needs'.
Favorite funny moments in Dollhouse:
1. In 'Briar Rose' when Paul and Boyd break the glass of Victor's sleeping pod while fighting and he screams. And later he says: "People were fighting on me". Hilarious!
2. Adelle jumping on the trampoline in 'Echoes'.
3. Alan Tudyk in 'Briar Rose'.
my favorite moment: When Mellie though the next logical word Ballard would say was "adora-bubble"
Absolutely the best part of Dollhouse was the revelation that Alan Tudyk was Alpha. Is there any role that guy can't play?!?
echo. thats my favorite bit. just her. being her. oh yeah.
I really liked season one especially the second to last episode which i thought was GREAT!
chuck
My favorite moment was in Buffy in the episode Once More With Feeling at the end where Xander confesses he just wanted to be in a musical. Okay he doesn't exactly say that but I can't remember, I have an awful memory. :D
My most memorable moment was Mellie being re-programmed by DeWtitt over the answering machine in her living room. That's when Dollhouse finally felt like a true Joss Whedon show to me.
My favorite is when Mellie is revealed to be a Doll. I was floored! :)
My favorite Whedon moment is Spike's commentary on Angel saving a poor girl at the beginning of episode three of season one in Angel:
"Spike: [as Rachel] How can I thank you, you mysterious black-clad hunk of a night thing?
Spike: [as Angel] No need, little lady, your tears of gratitude are enough for me. You see, I was once a badass vampire, but love and a pesky curse defanged me. And now, I'm just a big, fluffy puppy with bad teeth. No, don't touch the hair. Never the hair. "
My fav moment had to be when they introduce Alan Tudyk character. What a great job!
So far I have loved Joss Whedons' work, although I haven't got to watch anything from Dollhouse(due to my busy schedule!). My favorite Serenity moment was the River fight scene in the bar.
My favorite moment was Mellie's message for Ballard, and watching his face fall apart…
My undisputed favorite Dollhouse moment was when Topher imprinted Sierra so
he could have a geeky girlfriend to spend his birthday with. She was a
perfect match for him and it peeled back lots of layers surrounding Topher's
character.
My favorite momen was, "There are three flowers in a vase. The third flower is green."
My favorite Joss Whedon work is the Buffy the Vampire Slayer Series
I love Topher programming Sierra to be with him on his birthday. So sweet!
My favourite moment is everytime when Echo says "Have I fall asleep?" Just love it
My favorite Whedon moment isn't from Dollhouse, probably because I haven't had time to rewatch and really absorb Dollhouse's true brilliance yet. My favorite moment is from season 2, episode 19 of BtVS, "I Only Have Eyes for You". The scene where Buffy is possessed by the male spirit and Angel is possessed by the female spirit makes me tear up every time. That episode made me a David Boreanez fan for life.
I managed to remain unspoiled so that it came as a complete shock when Alan Tudyk turned out to be you-know-who in the second-to-last episode.
My favorite Dollhouse moment was when we find out that Mellie is actually a sleeper doll. That whole storyline in that episode was great. I really like Mellie and wanted her to get with Paul and it was a pleasant surprise that a part of her is literally able to kick the crap out of someone.
