Character Cage Match: Biff vs. Chet

Welcome to the newest edition of We Are Movie Geek’s Character Cage Match! One of the best parts of teen-focused comedies from the 80′s are the bullies written into many of the movies. In these, as is the case with many movies from all eras, the bully is a cruel and brutish, but usually dense and about as smart as a box of hammers.

So, this edition of the WAMG Character Cage Match pits the two greatest pea-brained, nerd-squashing cinematic bullies from 80′s against each other in a duel to the death. Biff (Back to the Future) is going to square off toe-to-toe with Chet (Weird Science) but only one will emerge. You get to decide who survives this Jousting of the Jocks. Biff (Back to the Future, 1985): Chet (Weird Science, 1985):
  • Stands at a 6’3″ tall.
  • IQ: Calls others stupid and repeatedly minces his metaphors… “That’s about as funny as a screen door on a battleship.”
  • Biff is a big boy and could inflict some serious bruising, but often prefers to verbally assault his victims with insults and threats.
  • Chet stands at 5’11″ tall.
  • IQ: Has a vocabulary of about 52 words, many of which contain the word “dick” but his favorite being “buttwad.”
  • Chet can dish out his share verbal abuse as well, but his personal weapon of choice is to brandish his hunting guns in your face.

    Despite the popularity of Back to the Future, I'm rolling with Chet. There's just something to say about the usage of his minimal vocabulary.

    Cage match? They both seem cowardly. However, Chet has to be one of the most quotable characters ever. "I'm gonna tell Mom and Dad everything. I'm even considering making up some shit!" Sadly, my brother & I used to say this to each other all the time.
