‘Star Trek’ snagged $7 million last night

‘Star Trek’ opened last nigh on most of its 3,800 theaters at 7pm and pulled in roughly $7 million, which is pretty damn impressive. So that means word of mouth, 96% on Rotten Tomatoes, is starting to spread all of the world and EVERYONE will be rushing out to see it tonight, I could easily see a $40-45 million Friday night, because the film is that good.
What are you waiting for? Go out and get your tickets for tonight or else it will be sold out across the country. The movie geeks have spoken. Thanks to Variety for the heads up.

I just saw it in IMAX and was utterly amazed. The story was incredible, the special effects are breathtaking, and the characters and acting give the series justice. The only actor who I thought completely missed the mark was Anton Yelchin as Chekov. Yelchin is a horrible actor and was the only flaw in the film. His Russian accent was one of the most horrible attemps I’ve ever seen. Since all the actors were pretty much unknowns, why didn’t Abrams cast a Russian actor. Yelchin is the reason in my opinion why it lost that 4% off of 100 from rotten tomatoes. Other than that this is the must see film of the summer.
