New ‘Final Destination’ Poster Puts the ‘The’ Back in Horror

What a strange title. First called ‘Final Destination 4: Death Trip,’ the producers behind the latest film about teenagers cheating Death (Death don’t like to be cheated) have opted to give the film a “reboot” feeling. It’s not a reboot. God knows we’re only about three or four years from actually remaking ‘Final Destination.’
Actually, putting the word ‘The’ at the beginning of the title gives the impression that this could be the last film in the franchise. Fat chance of that happening considering each of the preceding films have grossed, on average, over $50 million. This next one doesn’t look to be any different.
‘The Final Destination’ opens on August 28th, 2009. Strangely enough, it opens on the same day as Rob Zombie’s ‘Halloween 2.’ I’m wondering if one or the other will flinch before that day comes.

I actually like the poster quite a bit. I can imagine this freaking kids out. Remember being freaked out by old VHS tapes at the video store? Those were the days.
Anyways, I like the bravado of this being released the same day as Zombie’s movie. I like him in a lot of ways, but sort of hated his Halloween remake and by sort of I mean ‘a lot’ really. I wonder what will bring in more money? This has 3-D going for it though.
Isn’t the plot revolve or start around a Nascar race for the big mega disaster opening? Hrmm…
But I do like the title and the poster. Who knows?
Hello,
The original Final Destination came out of nowhere in 2000. The plot is about a teenage High School boy who is on board a plane, which is about to set off to Paris. He drifts asleep and has a vision of the plane taking off and exploding mid-air. The vision is so real that he freaks out and warns people of the forthcoming disaster.
