Any a-hole that includes blair witch on a list of best of… is truly damaged goods. The acting in this not-really-a-movie was the worst I’ve ever seen.
Anyone that was actually freaked or scared or drawn in by these performances at all (YES< at all) is the same kind of loser that is one step away from wearing tin foil hats.
Gullable doesn't come close.

Cudos to the douches who started the worst genre of filmaking ever.

Shaky-cam first person shooters suck ass. Learn how to block a scene and pay for the equipment to do it right. PLEASE !!

It was a pretty good list (I especially like Christopher Guest’s films – however, IMHO “Waiting For Guffman” is the best of the lot) until you ruined it by including Blair Witch, one of the worst pieces of dreck ever made. The only way this film could scare anyone is for that person to have recommended it to some guys who would beat you senseless if you brought them to a bad film.

What I don’t understand is why no one has “The G-ds Must Be Crazy” on their list of top 10 mockumentaries. It’s far better than many of the films on this list.

My alltime fave in the mockumentary category has got to be The Life and Times of Guy Terrifico. The first time I caught it was on cable and I got in about 5 minutes after the start, and here’s Kris Kristoferson, Merle Haggard, Levon Helm and others talking about Guy Terrifico. I bit and was hoodwinked until the very end. SEE THIS MOVIE.

“Larry David: Curb Your Enthusiasm” is also very nice. It’s about the Seinfeld producer Larry David going back to stand-up comedy. It’s nos better then those listed but it’s notable for being later transformed into a TV show (witch is now on it’s 7th season).

Also, I believe that “The Office” (the TV show) could be considered a pretty good mockumentary, but in a “TV series” format.

“Man bites Dog”, also known by it’s original title “C’est arriv� pr�s de chez vous” is a Belgian movie.
It was a reply to the rise of Belgian shows like “Jambers” which followed common people in their daily life, the start of reality TV.

The main character is played by Benoit Poelvoorde, one of the absolute top Belgian actors. Check out his other film “Podium” on Claude Fran�ois!

…God Rocked blew my mind!!! The funny thing about it is I didn't expect it too. The part about it that I liked was the music, and the inter-band peace. The part I didn't like was it was a bit campy. Other than that, though, a real feel good film, with bad actors. That's the one downfall….it was all so low budget that I don't think they could pay their actors much…but it was good considering that. LOL about the hard rock band turned Christian preachers…and their competitions (who can quote Bible verse best). It was funny, and I'd watch it again.

Yeah, I saw that one (…and on the 7th day, God rocked!), Troy, and really enjoyed it. I laughed several times at the schtick used by the "musical geniuses" to get across a point of religious curiosity or two. I mean, seriously, how many times does it take a man to understand that genius is given and not a competition?!! Seriously, though, the music really stood out to me in this flick. The rap artists were hysterical, as was that odd Angie Hynes band. My favorite, though, was the gospel belting band's lyrics. They were the Peter, Paul, and Mary of Christian rock!!! I dig them. Seriously, though, I recommend!!

Check out "…And on the 7th Day, God Rocked" a very low budget, but well produced mockumentary. No star names, which in this case, I think makes it better than recognizable faces. I saw it at a film festival, and some people actually asked if "some of those people were real"! It's on netflix, and I think it's also easy to google…

I prefer Waiting for Guffman to The Grand by far, but I guess you can’t put all their stuff up there and Hollywood Shuffle is absolutely fantastic!

You left off the original mockumentary, THE WAR GAME from 1965 about nuclear war and its aftermath in England. The “mockumentary” format so confused the AMPAS back in 1965 they actually awarded the oscar to THE WAR GAME for Best Documentary!

A much better movie than CB4 is “Fear of a Black Hat”. It is the story of the notorious Gangsta rappers N.W.H. or Ni**as with Hats. No one was spared it this joint. Hammer, Queen Latifah, PM Dawn,Snoop, NWA, ll cool j, Salt and pepper, C%C Music Factory, New Jack City, Spike Lee, John Singleton and everything hip hop was ripped. I laughed my ass off in the theater and my video tape was stolen by a hater. It was worth the long wait for it on DVD and the deleted scenes and the Videoes,especially Ice froggy Frog and Granny said kick yo Azz. It also gives us the answer to a very important question,”Whats the difference between a b##th and a hoe” and that’s one valuable lesson.
Also Two of the best ever are Woody Allen’s Take the money and run and Zelig.

Christopher Guest is the mocumentary king! You should also check out his 1989 effort, ‘The Big Picture’. It’s along the lines of ‘For Your Consideration’, but I think it’s funnier (and has a cast of real name actors).

Let’s not forget that Amy Poehler has totally ripped off Lord Hayden-Guest in ‘Parks and Recreation’, too. Christopher should sue.
