‘It’ Remake to be R-Rated

Word and news about the ‘It’ remake is coming fast and furious. In fact, you can go right here and nominate your own candidates for who should be playing Pennywise the clown. Whoever does end up donning the clown makeup will have to brush up on their vulgarity, seeing as how ‘It’ will be rated R assuming WB is telling the screenwriter on the film the truth.
Dread Central caught up with Dave Kajganich, who is filling script writing duties on the film, and here is what he had to say about his vision on the remake.
“The remake will be set in the mid-1980s and in the present almost equally — mirroring the twenty-odd-year gap King uses in the book — and with a *great* deal of care and attention paid to the backstories of all the characters.”
“I think the real twist here is that my pitch to WB — which they’ve assured me they’re on board for — is that this will not be PG-13. This will be R. Which means we can really honor the book and engage with the traumas (both the paranormal ones and those they deal with at home and school) that these character endure.”
“I plan to be very protective of the book. The reality, though, is that WB wants to do this as a single film, so I will have to kill a few darlings to make that happen. You have my promise, though, that I will do this with the utmost humility and respect for King’s work. He’s the King, after all, and I intend to continue to pledge to him my allegiance.”
So, there you have it, straight from the screenwriter’s mouth. ‘It’ will be rated R. Judging by what Kajganich had to say above and knowing the novel pretty well, this could easily be one scary-as-hell horror film.

I hated the original movie not the content just that at a young age clowns have scared me so I can see this remake being insane! especially with the make up these film studios can do now!
Well, the original “IT” movie was not as I imagined. It wasn’t great. I liked the characters and the settings, but when it came to the horror, I didn’t personally feel it there. Their was no suspense, Thriller, blood and horror. It was disappointing. The book was very detailed and “scary.” I liked the book. It was detailed at the parts when it came to death, but in the movies it was closed there was no blood. You couldn’t see anything. Hopefully the new movie will be a better make of “IT”. Hopefully i can sneak in and watch it and enjoy the comparisons of the original and the newer version of “IT”

P.S. i wonder who will get into the character cast?
Awsome i think its good either way a new an old version just hope the new is scarier than the old
I love Tim Curry as Pennywise, I think it would be interesting to see Robert Downey Jr. as Pennywise though. I think if anybody could come close to that role ( it will be hard ) it would be him.
