UK ‘Star Trek’ Poster is… Blue

The above poster from the UK is brought to us today by Empire. Not sure why, but it doesn’t do just a whole lot for me. I’m not too thrilled with the usage of the USS Enterprise under construction or Kirk on his motorcycle. Anyone else flashing on ‘Top Gun’ whenever you see that in the trailer?
‘Star Trek’ comes out on May 8th.

Well I think they are trying to set the tone that much of the story will be about the aspects of Star Trek we don’t know. The building of the ship, and establishing/defining Kirk’s character.
Sure, the guy on the motorcycle as a symbol of being ‘untamed’ and thrill seeking is fairly cliche, but as established as it is, when it fits – it gets the message across.
Else, I think it’s an attractive image. I think it look better as a digital image than it would on a wall for some reason. It reminds me more of a desktop wallpaper that’s been shopped vs. a poster. /shrug
