Kevin Smith to direct ‘Couple of Dicks’?
Kevin Smith has signed on to direct a movie that he didnt write called ‘Couple of Dicks’ which will star Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan has 2 retired LAPD officers that have set out to find a vintage 1952 baseball card.
Ok let me be the first to say THIS IS A BAD IDEA! Kevin Smith..pull out now dude, dont do it! This movie is with Warner Bros, which you havent done a movie NOT with the Weinsteins since Mallrats. Second the movie is written by Robb and Marc Cullen which you have never directed a movie that you didnt write. Not to mention the story sounds effing boring and not..Kevin Smithish at all! Please dont do this man..get ‘Red State’ or the Sci Fi flick going instead..
It could be alright. I like Bruce in comedy and I like Tracy Morgan on SNL and 30 Rock, but his shtick gets old quick so I hope he’d play it straight. Of course he won’t though, that’s why he has the role. As far as Kevin Smith…he deserves the right to do some studio flicks for the paycheck! The studio’s aren’t going to give him anything other than comedy anyways until he has a big hit.
I’m gonna have to agree with Brian on this one. This movie wouldn’t be the most egregious error any of these guys could make. Willis could stand to star in another comedy. Tracy Morgan needs some kind of headlining launch in films, and Kevin Smith could do some good on a studio picture. Hopefully this will allow him to get ‘Red State’ done, unless that’s already going through. Haven’t heard anything about it in awhile. It doesn’t sound boring at all. It sounds pretty funny.
How can you really have a take on the funny factor with the obvious lack of information? The early write-ups on Clerks might have been: Two dudes work at a convenient store and talk.
