I would love to see more podcasts like this; it really made it clear to me that this was a fun movie at best. Seems like the round table style video reviews are more direct than the written ones, and i think it’s awesome that you got the guy from Destroy The Brain and the new guy Vincent in on the video review.
Yeah the movie was fun. This is the type of movie were, you are at the movie theater and there is nothing else to see. And then you see Jason Friday 13th. Oh Lets go see that!!! The movie is koo. You wouldn’t be wasting your money.
Thanks for having me on the vidcast again. I’ll be joined by my better half on my site to give a in-depth review of it. It should be posted tonight or tomorrow-if interested.
BTW, I need a tan, shave & a haircut if I’m going to be on anymore of these.
Great video. I passed on our screening here in Baltimore. Doesn’t look a movie worth watching at all. But I am sure our other writer will have something up shortly for it.
I thought the “Texas” Remake was great and had a lot of suspense and good character development. Based on that … I was very dissapointed with the screening, much to the same sentiments as the red shirt button up guy. I saw it last night as well, and felt the first group of kids at the beginning were more interesting and developed than the main group. The deaths were uninventive and blood-less(aside from the sleeping bag), some of the shots were out of focus, the writing was lazy, it was filled with teenage pop music, and it was pretty much by the numbers. Apparently the director has a thing for pot smokers as well since “Texas” and this are pretty bogged down with weed smoking teens. All in all, average to below average film. I’d rather sit through “Let the Right one In” again.
sorry Jeremy (aka – red shirt), i just forgot your name when typing. hopefully this does shitty at the box office and the studios will stop doing remakes and think of new and orginal films. please, please , please don’t remake Hellraiser!
p.s. where was our inglorious basterds trailer! quint from aintitcoolnews had it with his screening! damn the man!!
There was a kid in the theater who I guess was like 8 and kinda panicked during the first boob scene.
I don’t know why anyone would bring little kids into a rated R movie.
I was at the screening. Good times! Huge crowd. I’m sure it will be, if not the number one movie, then at least the number one rated R movie this weekend.
forgot to comment on the pot scenes. I joked with my friend that Jason was protecting his crop and that’s his real motivation rather than avenging his mother.
Cinematography is totally rough… But I dig it. :P

The red shirt button up guy agrees!
I forgot all about the pot scenes. I do like the fact that more movies are starting to find the humor in pot.

Man… if only the camera kept rolling! Oh the fun of the circle movie debates after a film…
I agree, too many fake boobs and weird ribs.
