Mickey Rourke on Fire, will Star in ‘St. Vincent’

Here’s the most popular scenario in Hollywood big shot studio executive offices…

Exec #1: “Hey, we’ve got this great new script, but we can’t figure out who to cast.”
Exec #2: “Oh, have I got the guy for you!”
Exec #1: “Really? Who?”
Exec #2: “Mickey Rourke!”
Exec #1: “Yeah, he’s perfect!”

Oh, fine… don’t get the wrong idea. I love Mickey and I’m absolutely thrilled he’s making a huge comeback, but it amazes me at the number of projects he’s suddenly being offered. The newest in this unbelievable string of castings is that Rourke will star in ‘St. Vincent’, written by Cameron Young and directed by Walter Hill (Johnny Handsome).

He’ll play a hit man who returns to New York to complete a botched hit. Masquerading as a priest, he finds himself hearing the confession of the man who he is targeting. — HR

  1. Mickey Rourke portrays a hitman in his latest film “Killshot”. For a great actor who has shown his chops and paid his dues, he richly deserves material a bit more interesting than what he’s being offered.
But if he has to be a hitman, just simply has to be, then how about a continuation of “Body Heat” alongside original cast members William Hurt and Kathleen Turner (Ted Danson and J.A. Preston). Toward the end of that film, Hurt went to prison in 1981 for murder; Mickey’s character also, for two-counts of arson resulting from his foolish involvement (separately) with Hurt and Turner. Now it’s almost 30 years later and Hurt has been released. Once he’s on the outside, he hires Mickey, who’s been paroled, to track down and take out Turner, the self-made widow/billionaire having murdered her way into becoming a prominent doyenne of fashionable society. But there’s a twist….
“Body Heat” is just what Hollywood is looking for: a brand name with a built-in audience; a sequel that offers both old and new panting fans of Mickey Rourke something old and new to pant about.

  2. Mickey is the MAN and a GENIUS actor…….he will FABULOUS in it! Oscar, Oscar!
