- NYCC 2011: Friday Recap | We Are Movie Geeks - [...] with absolutely no wait for press check-in. I thought I knew what to expect since I attended (and COVERED) ...

Awesome pics, Jerry! I can’t believe I missed out this year… That Hellboy guy is there every year. Guillermo showed him a lot of love last year.
Was that the S.Darko movie poster I saw in one of the pics?
Awesome pics, looked like it was alot of fun.
A shame they dont have anything cool like this in Australia.
Thanks guys. Glad you like the pics. It really was a lot of fun. It was the first time for me at something like this and I’m already looking forward to the next one.
That is actually not a S. Darko poster but a poster for Donnie Darko on Blu-Ray. Strangely, the image is the same as the art for the S. Darko t-shirts though. I think they are trying to tie the two together more. I’m still skeptical but I’ll hold my judgement till I see it.
Skeptical? LOL… Rest assured my friend that S.Darko will tarnish it’s original predecessor. I actually created a petition to halt production, as you may have guessed, I was unsuccessful.
Dude, those are some great pics. Thanks so much for the East Coast coverage! That dude’s Hellboy outfit rocked! I gotta get me a ‘Wolverine’ foam hand!
I’m going to stick with skeptical. Sure it’s a watered down sequel that no one asked for to one of the most unique films of all time but you never know. It won’t be better than the first but there is a possibility it can still be a decent movie. Especially since the first one was so open to interpretation. As long as they don’t try to explain every little thing, there is a chance this film could work to a degree. And I for one do not believe that any sequel/remake/reimagening/whatever can ruin an original since the first one is technically untouched. If the second one is bad, just rewatch the original and pretend the follow up doesn’t exist.
Thanks Jeremy, glad you like the coverage. There’s lots more to come. That Hellboy outfit was definitely one of the best ones there. I also loved the Predator and huge Chewbacca. The Wolverine foam hands were not being given out unless you attended a demo of the new Wolverine videogame. The wait for the demo was usually 30 minutes long but I caught it early on Sunday morning. The game looks amazing and is extremely violent. I was only able to get 1 foam hand; the old I want to give them out on my movie website did not work. I also got a Wolverine dog tag for attending the demo. Sorry folks but they will not be included in the upcoming comic con swag bag contest.
GREAT PICS… I wish I could have made it.
Thanks Vince. I just posted a video of the con if you want to check it out. You can get a little bit more of a feel what it was like being there. If you can make it out next year, you should definitely go. It is a lot of fun.
