Comic Con NY 2009: Judah Friedlander

I ended my first night of the 2009 NY Comic Con with an unscheduled interview with Judah Friedlander. Earlier in the day I saw that he was on MTV’s panel for the discussion of who the greatest movie badasses of all time are. I immediately decided to skip the Friday night showing of Futurama and go to the panel instead. I am so glad I did. Despite Ash not even being on the top 10, it was a great panel. Judah Friedlander is hilarious and he’s also a really nice guy. He stuck around afterwards to sign autographs and take pictures with everyone there. For some strange reason, he even agreed to be interviewed by me. After I turned the camera off, I stuck around for another 15 minutes. We had an on and off conversation while he signed a few more autographs and gave an aspiring comedian some advice. He even took a copy of my film and told me he’d get back to me with his thoughts on it. He is really just a laid back funny dude and I look forward to speaking with him again soon.
Check out the interview and let me know what you guys think!

at least someone recognizes we need more Movie Geeks!
OMG, the funniest part is the hats! ROFLMAO! I love how the hats say different things and he just wears hats with random stuff on them! SOOOOOOO FUNNNNNYYYY!!!!!
I agree with Judah, we need more Movie Geeks! A funny thing about this interview is that when he was talking about his hatred for renting movies online, I had my netflix jacket on from the Movie Watching World Championship. While browsing for videos is now a long lost art of the modern movie geek, I think online renting can be good for finding those rare movies that most video stores don’t have. Plus, i still browse for movies, I just now can do it in my underwear without fear of being arrested for public indecency.
Tobin, his hats and shirts are great. Lately, I’ve seen him wearing some Toxic Avenger and Troma related shirts on 30 Rock. Maybe we can get him to wear a WAMG shirt or hat on the show. It will probably never happen but that would be awesome. BTW, the hats he wears on 30 Rock are available on his website http://www.JudahFriedlander.com.
Amen, Jerry! I too miss the days of video store browsing, but Netflix is also a wonderful thing! And, it won’t be long before we’ll be able to wirelessly stream movies from our Netflix accounts to our big screen LCD TVs… oh, wait. We already can! Sweet!
We can’t stream movies if we don’t have a good connection (puts head down in shame). Well, we can but they are not really watchable. I only have one bar for my connection with my Xbox 360 so the video quality is sub-standard. It looks worse than a video shot on a cell phone compressed for youtube. But the upconvert on my Blu-Ray player is amazing so I’m happy with my setup for now.
