Box Office Report Feb.13-15: Jason Voorhees Slices His Way To The Top!
Jason Voorhees and the classic remake ‘Friday The 13th’ manage to pack the theaters on that very day to bring in $42 million dollars and claim the number one spot at the box office this weekend. Chick flick ‘Confessions of a Shopaholic’ weren’t able to max their credit and only manage to pick up $15 million and finish fourth overall. Clive Owen and his spy thriller ‘The International’ miss the mark with a meger $10 million for its opening and finished seventh. Here is how the rest of the top ten stacked up:
- Friday The 13th                                           $42,245,000
- He’s Just Not That In To You                 $19,610,000
- Taken                                                                 $19,250,000
- Confessions of a Shopaholic                    $15,406,000
- Coraline                                                            $15,323,000
- Paul Blart : Mall Cop                                    $11,700,000
- The International                                         $10,000,000
- Pink Panther 2Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â $ 9,000,000
- Slumdog Millionaire                                    $ 7,150,000
- Push                                                                    $ 6,931,000
Slow week next week at the theater could give some of the films like ‘Push’ , ‘Pink Panther 2’ and ‘the International’ an additional week in the top 10. Tyler Perry’s newest installment in his long running family series, ‘Madea Goes To Jail’ is set to break-out next week and the high-school cheerleading ‘Fired Up’ is also ready to kick up some dirt in the top ten. Feels like to me..like its alot of filler for February and we are just waiting for March 6th and ….WATCHMEN!
