Mike Myer’s Favorite Time of Year: The 2008 Razzies Are Out!

Mike Myers and his dreadful film ‘The Love Guru’ lead the way in this year’s Golden Raspberry Awards aka The Razzies with seven nominations.  Guru was able to land worst film, actors (Myers, Troyer, Kingsley), actress (Jessica Alba). screenplay and director (Marco Schnabel). Other multiple nominations went to some other stinkers of 2008:

Hottie and the Nottie: Picture, Actress (Paris Hilton… no shocker there!), Director, Screenplay and On- Screen Couple (she hasn’t learned everyone has seen her sex tape… Stop Acting!).

Disaster Movie & Meet The Spartans:Picture, Supporting Actress, Director, Rip-off and Screenplay.

(Michelle don’t read any further)

The Happening: (YES!!!!!) Worst Picture, Actor, Director and Screenplay.

In The Name Of The King: A Dungeon Siege Tale: Picture, Supporting Actor, Supporting Actress, Director and Screenplay.

The Love Guru: Picture, Actor, Actress, Supporting Actor (x2), Director, and Screenplay.

Razzie Regulars also getting nominations were Eddie Murphy for the horrid comedy Meet Dave and Larry the Cable Guy for ‘Witless Protection’.

Who’s not on the list. I personally would like to know who Toby Keith paid off to keep his 2 hour music video ‘Beer For My Horses’ off the list! What else was the worst of 2008? Check back with us on February 21st when the winners of the worst are announced.

  1. I hate the Razzies, They missed “Snakes on a Plane” two years ago and now they have overlooked “10,000 B.C.). It was the worse of the worse. I have long ago ignored the ______Movie series. But a movie that used the 300 narrator, about a bunch of gloriously tanned cavemen with dredlocks, weaves with perfectly white teeth, with a language of a broken surf english, living in a land with no dinosaurs and friendly sabretooths, that is on the verge of being extinct because of a band of evil egyptians who have the hots for the supergroovy cave chick, now thats the ticket. !0,000 was so bad on so many levels…..and it had the big superbowl ad campaign to launch it. I am sure that none of the studio execs screened it before they agreed to the ad campaign. I laughed for about 5 minutes, took a nap, and sat dumbfounded through the rest of it.
I am starting a write in campaign for 10,000 so it can get it’s much deserved awards.

  2. I agree that 10,000 BC sucked on every level a film could. I had it in my worst film list with The Happening, Love Guru, Meet Dave and Beer For My Horses. I think the stupid spoof films like Disaster movie and Meet the Spartans shouldn’t qualify for an awrd for poor film-making when that is what they set out to do. I guarentee that if those two were out Beer for My Horses and 10,000 BC would be there!
