First Look at Jim Carrey in ‘A Christmas Carol’

That there is the first look at Jim Carrey in Robert Zemeckis’ version of ‘A Christmas Carol’.  He’s doing it motion-capture style like ‘Beowulf’ and ‘The Polar Express’.  The guy can’t seem to shake that type of filmmaking.

Carrey will be playing Scrooge, the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present and the Ghost of Christmas Yet To Come.  Gary Oldman will be playing iny Tim, Bob Cratchit, and Marley.  Colin Firth also has a part.

The above picture was brought to us by the guys over at The Bad and Ugly.  They’ve also posted a small image of the film’s promo poster.  Here it is all blowed up:

What do you think?  Do we really need another retelling of A Christmas Carol?  Didn’t the Muppets do it just fine the last time?  Will Robert Zemeckis ever shoot another live-action film again?  Let us know by commenting below!

  1. As its Zemeckis, I’m in….

  2. My all time favorite rendition of A Christmas Carol will always be Scrooged with Bill Murray.

  3. He should continue the Back to the Future franchise in stop motion, that way he can still use the original cast. I’m sure it’s been proposed. Roxy, I agree, Scrooged is sweet!
