Danny Elfman Scoring ‘Terminator: Salvation’
Brad Fiedel. Ă‚ Marco Beltrami. Ă‚ Danny Elfman. Ă‚ What do they all have in common? Ă‚ They’ve all now scored a ‘Terminator’ film, as it was reported by MTV on Friday that Elfman would be pulling scoring duty on ‘Terminator: Salvation’.
“I just started yesterday,†ť Elfman told MTV News from the red carpet of the Critics’ Choice Awards.
Elfman, who has been nominated for Academy Awards for his scores on ‘Men in Black’, ‘Good Will Hunting’, and ‘Big Fish’, said that he had not yet incorporated the original ‘Terminator’ theme into the score yet. Ă‚ He also explained that there was no mandate for him to do so.
“I think if it comes up and it seems appropriate, we will [use it],†ť Elman said. “And if it doesn’t, we [won't]. I never really know what to expect when I begin other than just kind of get into it and have fun. Especially a movie like ‘T4′ – just have fun. So that’s what I intend to do.†ť
It was also reported last month that the ‘Terminator: Salvation’ soundtrack would include an original song by the film’s co-star, Common.

I love Danny Elfman, I really do, but not incorporating the Terminator theme into a Terminator film is a discourage to the franchise and the fans. At the very least a suggestion of the original theme incorporated into the score somehow, I’ll take that.
Yes Danny Elfman did a great job in terminator salvation. And also it would be even more great if the original terminator theme incorporated into the film score at some point..
