Re-Casting ‘Twilight’?

When seeing ‘Twilight’ for the first time, there was only one character that didn’t really fit. That would be Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black. Something about him doesn’t really scream ‘I’m getting ready to become an awesome werewolf!”. In the second book New Moon, Jacob starts growing at a rapid pace, becoming quite rugged and muscular. Basically, Jacob turns into a beefcake! This has been a discussion amongst several of my friends… so it’s no suprise that rumors are floating around online now.
The studio, Summit, has said “The casting decision in regards to the character Jacob Black has yet to be made”. Hmmm… interesting…
There is one front runner that seems to be gaining buzz around the web, and that would be Michael Copon, who appeared in‘ The Scorpion King 2 :The Rise of a Warrior‘. Apparently Mr. Copon has been changing his Facebook status to say “Michael Copon is the older Jacob Black!”. His rep has confirmed that it is his real Facebook page, but nothing specific to the role has been confirmed. I will say… he is pretty enough to be a romantic possibility for Bella. Look for yourselves…
So let’s here it ‘Twilight’ fans… What do you think?

AND THAT GUY DOESNT EVEN FIT. && HIM && BELLA WOULDNT LOOK RITE 2GETHER…BUT IF YOU TRY TO PICTURE TAYLOR && KRISTEN THATS A MATCH.
&& WHY CHANGE THE CAST WHEN THEYVE ALREADY DID TWILIGHT. THAT NOT ONLY CONFUSES THE PEOPLE WHO WATCH THE MOVIE BUT MAKES IT “FAKE” IF YOU GET THE PICTURE. IF THEY CHANGE THE CASTING I WILL NOT BUY OR WATCH ANYTHING ELSE FROM THE TWILIGHT SERIES EXCEPT TWILIGHT.
Kayla, hate to break it to you, but the movie is already pretty darn fake. Although financially successful, I think the people behind the movie may feel as if it wasn’t as good as it should be, and maybe that’s why the are trying to recast.
In my opinion, they know the Twilight hype isn’t going to last as long as Harry Potter’s, and that’s why they are trying to whip these movies out as fast as possible, last I heard the second one is coming out in 2009 already. That’s why the author is rewriting the same books, just from a different point of view. They are going to suck every dollar they can out of this while they still can.
BUT WE’ll JUST HAVE 2 WAIT && SEE WHAT HAPPENS
Umm I'd like to point out that the Twilight hype will dominate the Harry Potter hype. Also, Stephenie Meyer isn't rewriting the books. She stopped a long time ago do to legal issues. And though Twilight wasn't very good, New Moon was excellent. You say that they are sucking up every dollar they can get, but in reality it's not like they are the saw series. It's Twilight, they have MORE than enough money. They aren't in it for the money, but for the fans…. thank goodness:)
Kevin, obviously, you are no fan of these books. If they don’t keep the characters they have, it will be a real shame … they already ARE the characters
I got that, and I read the books, I am just saying that although keeping the same characters may seem like a must to you, it might not to the people behind the movie. And frankly, that’s all they care about. It’s the money at this point. Just wait and see. The Twilight hype will fade. Fast.
For example, Don Cheadle is taking over Terrance Howard’s spot in Iron Man 2. Why? Because he can, according to history, bring in the most money. It’s just how they do it. I promise though, no matter who plays Edward, life will go on, and everything will turn out to be just fine.

thats so stupid Taylor fits the character perfectly and he can act! are they retarded….trying to recast jesus! who could possibly be a better Jacob Black then Taylor Lautner?….no one thats who! I seriously cannot believe they are thinking of recasting him….after he packed on all that muscle for the role what more could they want from him….he has well earned the role.!!!!!
