Without him there is no Freddie franchise. You can get away with re-casting a Jason, Michael Myers and Leather face, since their identities are concealed, but Freddie's most prominent feature is his face and that's all Englund. There's no excuse he's alive and well, at least to my knowledge, so why not use the guy. I agree wholeheartedly, keep Robert Englund. Without him there is no Freddie franchise.
