‘New Moon’ Gets Official Release Date

Pretty soon we’ll have a new pic from ‘New Moon’ to show, and we can stop running that super-glossy group photo above. Â  It was announced this week that the follow-up to ‘Twilight’ will officially be getting released on November 20, 2009. Â  For those of you keeping track, that’s 364 days after ‘Twilight’ got its wide release, not even a full year between films.

‘Twilight’ has pulled in $150 million domestic so far and another $35 million overseas. Â  There are four books total in the ‘Twilight’ series.

Also scheduled to bow on November 20, 2009 are ‘Sherlock Holmes’, ‘The Three Stooges’, and the Sony cartoon ‘Planet 51′.

What do you think? Â  Is less than a year not nearly enough time for a decent sequel to be pulled off? Â  What do you make of new director Chris Weitz? Â  Let us know by commenting below!

  1. I’m just annoyed that they wouldn’t use the money that they’ve made off the first film and take at least a little more time to try to craft a better film for the second installment. Annoyed.

  2. I hope the quick time doesn’t make the movie bad because I would really like for them to make Eclipse.

  3. i just loved it kknt wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. loved them to death.edward cullen and bella swan makes a fantastic couple.

  5. I think the movie portrayed the vampire as all other wanna be vampire movies. They are able to step in sunlight and not burst into flames as every ignorant director would have one think. They are a beautiful creature though I am definately partial to the lycan. This is by far the best ever vampire movie and series ever put out,I am just sorry I did not know about twilight before this movie. Now,I have to go get every book put out and collect all movies.Good job on this, and now I am a dedicated fan and follower of the twilight.
