Box Office Results Nov.28-30:Four Christmases wraps up the #1 Spot For the Holiday Weekend.

As we expected the teen sensation Twilight dropped like the Titanic after hitting the iceberg (-62%). This paved the way for Vince Vaughn and Reeese Witherspoon’s new holiday comedy ‘Four Christmas’ to claim the top spot with 31million dollars.  Disney’s ‘Bolt’ was nipping at their heels with a weekend total of $26.5 mil, good enough for #2 this weekend. The new romantic 3 hour epic, ‘Australia’ opened in a disappointing 5Th place only able to scrape together $14million. Transporter3 had a flat tire opening in the #7 spot. Here is how the rest of the top ten shook out over the Thanksgiving weekend:

  1. Four Christmases                                       $31,069,826
  2. Bolt                                                             $26,581,002
  3. Twilight                                                      $26,344,032
  4. Quantum of Solace                                     $18,833,552
  5. Australia                                                     $14,800,723
  6. Madagascar 2                                              $14,207,329
  7. Transporter 3                                              $12,063,452
  8. Role Models                                                $ 5,284,000
  9. The Boy in the Striped Pajamas                   $ 1,696,187
  10. Milk                                                             $ 1,453,844

We will have to see if Marvel still has the magic coming off hits like Ironman and the Hulk when the next character leaps from the pages in ‘Punisher: War Zone’. We will have to wait and see if Frank Castle can shoot his way to the top or if everyone’s least favorite vampire will be reborn to take back the number one spot. I for one will be checking out Punisher this weekend!
