‘Twilight’ Sequel is on its WAY?

Submitted by Quin on Friday, 14 November 20082 Comments

Okay, this is a little weird. The movie ‘Twilight’ has already started writing their sequel ‘New Moon’. But what gets me is that the producers and director do not how this movie is going to do against the big bad box office. The movie has spent a lot of money and time promoting to get fans of their couches reading the books and watch the movie when it hits theaters November 21,2008 So Next Friday. But getting back to the Sequel News Summit Entertainment has done some forward-thinking and gone forth to acquire the next three installments in the  Twilight Franchise. Scribe Melissa Rosenberg has been brought on to adapt both  New Moon and Eclipse. The fourth book,  Breaking Dawn, was also acquired, but has yet to be given a writer to adapt it into a working screenplay.  So don’t ask me this is just another case of Hollywood at its finest.

I hope they do make sequels. But Breaking Dawn will be hard to make.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with securing the rights to the books and getting someone working on the screenplays now. It’s very smart actually. These movies probably should be made… whether or not they make it into the theaters or get a straight to DVD release I’m sure will be affected by the ultimate performance of the first or second film at the Box office, but at least they are new and original and not another god damn remake!
