‘New Moon’ Starts Shooting in March

Submitted by Jeremy on Sunday, 30 November 200812 Comments

I never thought I’d be bringing you news from Ryan Seacrest’s radio show, but here it is.  He was talking with ‘Twilight’ star Kristen Stewart on his KiisFM show when the subject of the film’s sequel, ‘New Moon’, came up.  Stewart told him that the sequel begins shooting in March, just four short months away.

If you give two or three months for principal photography and another three months for post-production, that means ‘New Moon’ could potentially get a release sometime late next year.  As ‘Saw’ has become an October tradition, the ‘Twilight’ series could easily become a November tradition.

For the full interview with Stewart, as well as Seacrest actually reading from the ‘Twilight’ novel, check out the ‘Twilight’-themed page KiisFM has set up on their site.

So far, ‘Twilight’ has made $119 million, almost tripling its $37 million budget in two weeks.

So, what do you think?  Is one year enough time to put together a solid sequel to ‘Twilight’?  Would you like to see the ‘Twilight’ movies get punched out as fast as the ‘Saw’ films?  Let us know by commenting below!

I’m happy they start shooting in March. However, I hope they don’t rush it. But I will be one of the first in line to see the sequel.

I really hope TPTB over at Summit realize that the Twilight saga has a much broder demographic than just screaming teens! The movie was a disappointment as it lacked key elements that made us all fall in love with Bella & Edward! Hopefully with the complexity of the second book will bring with it a new director and a much longer film! I felt cheated with the 1st movie, there was absolutely no character development, we all know just how big a part of this saga it should have been!

i am glad that they are going to start shooting, but i am also dying to know if Taylor Lautner will still play Jacob Black . I feel that they HAVE to keep him as jacob ! Anyways, i want the sequel to be better than the first one . They left way toooo many scenes out thatwere verrrry IMPORTANT . Also, i hope this new director will know what he is doing and take it slow so they canget in all the good scenes .

I would love if it came out next year… as long as they don’t ruin it. I hope there is a new director though….. i don’t think that edward and bella were that very well portrayed as the both were very awkward around each other and were always stuttering. In the book the characters were more coherent and there was more character development. Although i think that every one else was portrayed well. Also some parts of the movie were kinda arkward and could have gone with the book and made it smoother.

you can shoot anytime you want, just don’t take away the “jacob” we learned to love just as much.pleeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaassssseee.
