‘More than a Game’ gets picked up by Lionsgate

LeBron James had a $90 million contract with Nike before he even got drafted by an NBA team, and that’s probably why anyone and everyone had their eye on him. A new documentary focusing on his high school days has gotten a deal with Lionsgate reports Variety:
It follows the five starters on the varsity team at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School, who travel a winding road from a rundown gymnasium to national glory and NBA riches, seeking to remain a tight-knit quintet even as James becomes a mega-millionaire.
The film mixes newly unearthed archival footage and family memorabilia with fresh interviews.
James jumped straight from Akron into the NBA in 2003. The 6-foot-8 star, now 23, led the Cleveland Cavaliers to the NBA Finals in 2007. The expiration of his contract in 2010 has set tongues wagging in L.A. and Gotham, where the Lakers and Knicks are already said to be starting to court James.
I am amazed at how many Basketball documentaries are coming out right now, but I am not complaining..I love basketball!

I am interested in seeing it. My daughter is 13 and 6′1/2″ tall. I spotted AAU scouts at her middle school scrimmage. I really want to know how early it all starts and what tactics they use. She is a gifted student and I don’t want any outside pressure on her to pursue basketball.
WOW! Good luck man, I am sure that she is going to start being scouted very soon. They will also probably try to get her to commit really really early as well.
We had a couple of guys at my high school that were scouted in middle school and commited in 10th grade to their college’s.
Milk it for all its worth man!

Let’s just get this out of the way. The accents, or lack thereof, found in ‘Valkyrie’ are not distracting. The fact that every character in the film is German, yet only Thomas Kretschmann speaks with …
