Box Office Results Oct.31-Nov.2: ‘Zack & Miri’ Not Able To Climax At No.1

Submitted by Ram Man on Sunday, 2 November 20084 Comments

Disney’s High School Seniors held off a strong first week by Kevin Smith and his Pornographers in ‘Zack and Miri Make A Porno’. ‘HSm3:Senior Year’ made it 2 in a row with 15 million and the number one spot at the box office. Clint Eastwood and Angelina Jolie’s ‘Changeling’ had a wider opening and was able to crack the top ten at No. 4 with 9 million.  Unknown spooky film ‘The Haunting of Molly Hartley” snuck it’s way into no.5 on it’s opening weekend. Here is how the rest of the top ten stacked up:

  1. High School Musical 3                        $15,035,000
  2. Zack & Miri Make A Porno                   $10,682.000
  3. Saw V                                                  $10,110.000
  4. Changling                                           $ 9,407,000
  5. The Haunting of Molly Hartley            $ 6,009,000
  6. Beverly Hills Chihuahua                      $ 4,747,000
  7. The Secret Life of Bees                        $ 4,000,000
  8. Max Payne                                           $ 3,700,000
  9. Eagle Eye                                             $ 3,400,000
  10. Pride & Glory                                       $ 3,260,000

Can the East High Wildcats make it 3 in a row….or will more publicity be the viagra ‘Zack & Miri’ need to claim the top spot! Beware of the ghosts of movies stars recently past. The Late great Bernie Mac & Issac Hayes re-appear in ‘Soul Men’, Stiffler is back molding the minds of kids in ‘Role Models’. Should be a comedic slobber knocker next weekend!

Aw, dude, but you forgot about ‘Madagascar 2′. The first one opened with $47 million, and, though that was a Summer movie, I’m sure the sequel will do solid numbers. I’m picking it for next weekend.

I was really hoping Zack and Miri could crack the #1 spot.

I’m inclined to agree… Madagascar will most likely reign at #1, next weekend.

talk about mental block…I just saw the film and forgot it was opening next weekend! Zack & Miri don’t stand a chance…may end up in 4th or 5th.
