Box Office Report Nov. 21-23: ‘Twilight’ Shines… Vamps Rule!

Submitted by Ram Man on Monday, 24 November 2008No Comment

The new teen vampire movie sensation has taken the country by storm… at least with kids from 7-18. Twilight debuted this weekend at No. 1 in the box office standings with over $70 million dollars. The vamps left Bond and Bolt a distant second and third with only $27 million each. Role Models with Rudd and Scott stayed consistent and remained in the top 5 for the third week with $7.2 million. Indie fave ‘Boy in the Striped Pajamas’ expanded and finished in 9Th. Here is how the top ten stacked up:

  1. Twilight                               $70,553,000
  2. Quantum Of Solace             $27,400,000
  3. Bolt                                      $27,000,000
  4. Madagascar 2                      $16,000,000
  5. Role Models                         $ 7,229,000
  6. Changeling                          $ 2,643,000
  7. High School Musical 3        $ 2,006,000
  8. Zack and Miri                      $ 1,700,000
  9. Boy in Striped Pajamas        $ 1,673,000
  10. The Secret life of Bees         $ 1,275,000

This weekend is the kick of to the Holiday season with a 4 day weekend over Thanksgiving. Will Twilight be giving “thanks” for a second week at number 1? Or will Vince Vaugn Family Christmases knock the vamps from the top spot. Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman are romancing ”down under” in Australia. Don’t forget about our favorite driver… Jason Statham in Transporter3. Should be a Holiday free-for-all! Have a great holiday and check out a great movie after dinner!
