‘Punisher: War Zone’ Soundtrack Led By New Zombie Track

Submitted by Jeremy on Friday, 31 October 20083 Comments

If you’re like me, you like a little metal to go along with your carnage.  The soundtrack listing for ‘The Punisher: War Zone’ has been released, and its filled with tracks from some of the best hard rock and metal bands out there today.  What’s even better is that Rob Zombie has written a new track that will be on the soundtrack.  Here’s the complete list:

WAR ZONE - Rob Zombie
FINAL SIX - Slayer
PSYCHOSOCIAL - Slipknot
HISTORIA CALAMITATUM - Rise Against
FALLEN - Seether
BULLETPROOF - Kerli
TAKE ME AWAY - 7 Days Away
THE PAST IS PROOF - Senses Fail
BUTTERFLY WINGS - Machines Of Loving Grace
GENESIS - Justice
SHOWDOWN - Pendulum
REFUSE / RESIST - Hatebreed
LUNATIC - Static-X
DAYS OF REVENGE - Ramallah

In fact, starting sometime today (Halloween), you will be able to download Zombie’s new track on iTunes.  If you just can’t wait for that, head on over to the movie’s official site to hear the Zombie track playing in the background.

Though I do agree that of all genres of music that could accompany a Punisher movie metal is the best what would REALLY be the best would be an awesome score that fits the tone of the movie and isn’t just there to sell CD’s. Sometimes the right song can really add to a scene, but more often I find soundtrack music by bands extremely distracting, it pulls me out of the film experience. But hey, I am looking forward to hearing the Rob Zombie track, not gonna lie!

Candian rockers, while not by any means “metal”, did win “judges favorite” for their hard rock song “Falling Down”. Kudos to 7 Days Away for winning the contest.
