New Trailer for ‘Seven Pounds’
‘Seven Pounds’ is the new Will Smith vehicle, but instead of him playing a drunk superhero he’s a depressed IRS agent named Ben Thomas. As a way of redeeming his good karma, Ben decides he’s going to help make the lives of seven complete strangers better. Rosario Dawson plays Emily, a woman Ben meets and falls in love with who has a serious heart condition and Woody Harrelson plays a blind pianist that Ben becomes friends with.
The new trailer looks good… the acting looks good, the cinematography looks good, but will the story be good? On the surface, it sounds like an interesting idea, but at the same time it sounds like it could end up being another ‘Message in a Bottle’ or ‘The Notebook’ type of movie. [yuck!] I would imagine Columbia Pictures is vying for a long shot chance at an Oscar nod, but I wouldn’t count on it.

Will Smith always delivers; even if the movie isn’t good, his performance is always outstanding.
I wish we knew a bit more about the plot though. I guess there’s some major surprise the producers don’t want to even give hint to.
