My Geek Stuff is better than yours…

As Movie Geeks, we enjoy collecting cool movie geek finds. Each of us has our own little personally customized collection of cool movie stuff… be it posters, promo stuff, schwag, screenplays, action figures, buttons… and that’s just the beginning!

We, the Movie Geeks, are going to start sharing our cool Movie Geek Finds with you, our readers… in exchange, we’d like to hear from all of you true movie geeks about your own finds, what it is, where and how you scored it, and why you dig it so much.

To kick things off, here’s my current collection of three movie-based MiniMates box sets: ‘Back to the Future’, ‘The Silence of the Lambs’ and ‘A Fistful of Dollars’…

MiniMates are sort of like what you’d get if you took characters from your favorite movies and made them into Lego people, except these are much more articulated and somewhat more detailed than Lego people. They are certainly cooler than your average Lego person.

The ‘Back to the Future’ set includes Marty McFly (with skateboard), Lorraine Baines, Biff Tannen and Doc Brown (with alternate head)… the ‘A Fistful of Dollars’ set includes The Man With No Name (with makeshift bulletproof armor), Marisol, John Baxter, Ramon Rojo, a shotgun and 3 pistols… the ‘Silence of the Lambs’ set includes Clarice Starling (with notepad), Hannibal the Doctor in blue jump suit, Hannibal the Cannibal in orange jump suit (with muzzle, straight jacket and hand cart) and Buffalo Bill (with gun).

If you have something like this, or something unlike this but in some way could be considered “cool movie geek stuff” then please tell us about it… we love cool movie geek stuff!

  1. Lame. I am rocking the Rocky MiniMates out of the package, non 40 year old virgin style!!

  2. These technically belong to my husband, but I love them. The idea that they were trying to market David Lynch’s “Dune” to children is hilarious and having these toys definately makes us movie geeks. Note, the three packages of Dune trading cards complete with bubblegum sticks!

  3. Dammit, I knew that would happen… how come my picture didn’t show up? I may be a movie geek, but I’m not a computer geek. I’ll try something else…

  4. Boo, I’m failing, well just know that I have a bunch of Dune action figures on display in my living room and that’s pretty movie geeky.

  5. I’m very intrigued. Now I’m gonna google them and learn more.

  6. wow Roxy, thats some hardcore collection there..

  7. Thanks. My livingroom is in fact very reminicent of The 40 Year Old Virgin setup… only I’m 26 and I’m married. Oh, and thanks to whoever for making the link to my photo.

  8. U R welcome… nice collection!

  9. No one else seems to be participating. I have another one, if you can turn it into a clickable link or whatever. This was mine and my husbands bedroom when we lived in Michigan. All of the figures on the wall are Star Trek figures. The other two walls not pictured also were covered as well. Geeky.

  10. I bought the Wonder Twins MiniMates, but I was severely disappointed. I open the package and some water leaked out all over me. Then, as I started to dry myself off, a snake sprung from the packaging and bit me on my left tricep.

  11. OK, so here’s my “movie wall”… it’s a work in progress and not everything is back up from my move. My new apartment has this in-wall bookcase in the office which worked out great.
