Matt Reeves Helming Vampire Remake

The Swedish, vampire flick ‘Let the Right One In’ has been tearing up the festival scene the past couple of months. Naturally, Hollywood is gonna grab it and shoot out their own version.

Overture Films and Hammer Films has hired writer/director Matt Reeves (‘Cloverfield’) to write the screenplay and direct the remake. The original film is an adaptation of a novel by John Ajvide Lindqvist about a young boy’s relationship with a 200-year-old vampire.

Hammer Films acquired the rights to the film at this year’s Tribeca Film Festival, where the original won Best Narrative Feature.

Overture plans to release the remake sometime next year. Reeves is also in pre production on ‘Invisible Woman’.

  1. This movie is amazing. If you tolerate subtitles, then see it. I can’t imagine a remake being able to improve upon what’s already a fantastic film. Good luck to Mr. Reeves.
