I completely agree. I did a double take when I read the part about changing him into a white guy. That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard and makes it completely obvious that they don't give a shit about preserving any of the original story or it's quality. I'm actually starting to wish you guys wouldn't report any more of these remakes, they make me very very angry to read about.

I'm sorry, but this is the worst, and perhaps most offensive bit of studio news I've read so far this year. First, 'Candyman' was great! One of my all-time favorite horror films. Second, the movie became a mediocre franchise already with at least two sequels... I think there may have even been a fourth. Thirdly, and most importantly, making Candyman a caucasion (aka, a white guy) completely destroys the story originally created by Clive Barker. I mean, doing this means you have to completely change the entire story, origin and everything, so... why even call it a 'Candyman' remake? I loved the story and I think the studio is not really considering what they're doing. They're suggesting we completely ignore the underlying theme of the movie and turn it into just another formulaic slasher flick. This is totally absurd!
