Raimi and Cruise for ‘Sleeper’ Adaptation

Submitted by Travis on Tuesday, 19 August 2008No Comment

Warner Bros. is developing a feature film adaptation of DC Comics/Wildstorm’s comic book ‘Sleeper’, originally written by Ed Brubaker. Tom Cruise is reportedly “loosely” attached to star, but the way things have been going lately, this could change at any moment. Sam Raimi, on the other hand, is set to produce the film so long as the project remains alive. The adaptation of the spin-off comic book is appealing, as it’s spawned from the great series ‘WildC.A.T.S’ that also includes characters from the ‘Gen13′ series. To say the least, if this project actually survives, it should be a big one.

[...centers on an operative whose fusion with an alien artifact makes him impervious to pain and allows him to pass it on to others through skin contact. He is placed undercover in a villainous organization by an intelligence agency and falls for a member of the group, named Miss Misery.] — Hollywood Reporter
