Well, when i first hear of this, I thought it was so wrong. I love Johnny as an actor, he’s amazing, but I didn’t know if this was a good role.
After looking at a few old Riddler pictures, I think I might change my mind. I think he’d do good… Maybe we get to see his really evil side!

Personally I don’t believe any of these stories floating around this week about new Batman villians. Hey The Dark Knight is still in theaters. There’s no way any deals will be discussed this soon and the last thing on Nolan’s mind is a batman 3. That’s at least a year away in terms of planning! It just makes sense. The same thing happened in 89 with Tim Burton’s version. Reports were flying around that Fred Savage would play Robin when the film was still in theaters. Its just silly stuff not to be taken seriously!

I can see Depp as the Riddler if this was still 1990 and Burton had a hand in it, but I would like to think Nolan would take it in a different direction.

My two choices would be Casey Affleck or, as an out of left field choice, Jon Cryer.

I think Sam Rockwell would be a good choice for the Riddler, or even the next joker if they are thinking of keeping the character. Rockwell has the right balance of menace/evil=Green Mile, comedy=Galaxy Quest, Hitchhikers Guide, attitude=matchstick men and on the edge quirkiness=confessions of a dangerous mind. All in all I think he is the most well rounded person to play these iconic characters. Although Daniel Day Lewis as the Riddler does sound amazing. What does everyone think?

I know I have already posted this but I have been blogging my socks off getting Sam Rockwell’s name out as a contender : – )
